You guys keep talking about how Minshew doesn’t turn the ball over. The fact that you guys overlook is that him and lock have the same amount of turnovers. They each have 29. Minshew has 18 fumbles and 11 int and lock is the inverse with 18 int and 11 fumbles. Neither seem like long term answers at the QB position, but I think it would be crazy to trade for another turnover machine.

Minshew has played 5 more games than Lock to be fair.

Minshew per game has a higher TD %, lower INT %, more passing yards per game

All with a worse offensive line and less weapons on offense than Lock has with the Broncos.

Hey fellas, long time no speak. First thing’s first; Congratulations to Mase and the Buccs. For Broncos Country, you’ve planted the ‘I am beatable’ seed in Mahomes’ mind, and we’ll be eternally grateful for that.

Ok, so I’ve finished my QB review, watching a tonne of tape on them.

1. Trevor Lawrence. Head and shoulders best QB

2. Justin Fields. He’s the 2nd best passer in this class, and the 2nd best runner. Too small to take hits regularly, but has Lamar Jackson’s ability to avoid the big hit whilst getting tackled. Shows touch and zip, to all areas of the field, and can rely on his wheels if need be. He is definitely the number 2 QB in this class.

3. Zach Wilson. Decent passer, but not top 5 worthy, and a lot of TDs to wide open receivers on tape. Decent runner too tho. Shows zip and touch but not quite as good or as composed in pocket as Fields. Seemed a little panicky in the pocket at times. Good development QB

4. Trey Lance. Not a 1st round NFL QB, may be not NFL at all. Taysom Hill gadget player to me. Throws are generally not impressive. Great runner though. Reminded me of Tebow at times. Wouldn’t mind him in 2nd, but would feel even that a reach.

5. Mac Jones. Not a First round QB either. Opposite skillset to Lance, but with weak arm. Wouldn’t pick him in the 2nd or 3rd.

The interesting thing though, is I went back and watched Drew Lock’s Missouri Highlights. He’s better than all but the top 2, and I don’t think it is close.

This QB class is NOT good. If Fields is there at 6, we could look to move up, but other than that, I’m out on 2021 QBs. Drew is our guy.

Peace out and love to all

Big T, I totally understand where you are coming from. I saw Daniel Jeremiah had Mac Jones as the 34th best prospect overall, so a 2nd round talent. It’s the darn QB market that drives up the price!

You’ve talked about how, if the Broncos are confident in one of the quarterbacks that they should be aggressive, trade up, and get their guy. You might be wrong but better to take your chance then let a good prospect get by you.

There’s a corollary to this though. If a top quarterback prospect falls to you in the first round, you take him unless you’re certain that he will fail. If some other team is willing to trade up to get him, maybe you should check your scouting again. Maybe you’re wrong.

Landing a quarterback is a game of odds. The more draft picks you spend the more likely one of them pans out.

Live from sunny Florida….MASE, I’m starting to think you’re stalking me. First NC and now here, gettin weird man!!

Since we’ve been talking about drafting QBs all week I thought I’d throw out some trivia to remind us all how we roll at drafting QBs; which drafted Broncos QB has the most playoff wins and how many is it?

You’ll love the answer and want to cry at the same time.

And Mase the offer is still on the table since I know you were SO excited about it last time, shoot over to Melbourne, FL and there’s a free tandem skydive with me waiting for you!

Love y’all

What if we change that “O” on Locks jersey to a “U”??? Come outta retirement and win that superbowl! Well make sure the offensive line protects you. There are a lot of good selling points! Think George pursued it?

1. There was a cat on the field in Colorado
2. Zac is the only person I know with a cat in Colorado
3. Therefore, Zacs cat was on the field in Colorado

Good man Zac, good man.

Football stuff

Humans (and “our models”) are really really bad at “pricing” low probability events. That’s what a successful Qb is – a rare event.
Having more shots at QBs is more important than taking one heavily loaded shot. You want more shots at it, not less.

So I’d love to see a probability driven argument that suggests you’re more likely to get a franchise QB by throwing 3 first round picks, and possibly Drew, at ONE player in 2021 than by simply selecting 3 different first round QBs.

“But LTDU, the broncos may not be back in a position like 9 to have the ability to move up and get someone in the top 5”.

Thanks for asking. You don’t need to take a QB in the top 5 for them be successful – in fact, there’s nothing in the current cohort of high quality QBs that suggests you need to be anything other than a first rounder (and even that is arguable).

– 6 of the top 10 QBs were drafted after pick 9, and of the other 4;
– Josh Allen and Justin Herbert have had 1 really notable season and while they look great, don’t have lots of history
– Ryan Tannehill “failed” before he was a success and was on a different team
– Kyla Murray is great but not world changing just yet

My point? I don’t think this needs to be rushed. Totally ok with drafting any of the top 5 QBs if they fall to 9. Not ok with giving away capital to move up. If anything – trade back and get as many day two picks as you can.

But whatever you do George, Don’t skip steps.

I feel like Mac Jones to San Fran is such a smoke screen. When everyone is saying one thing (especially in smoke screen season) it feels ripe for the 49er’s to do something else. It feels like Trey Lance would be a much better fit since he needs a year to develop and they have Jimmy G locked up.

You often dicuss what a fan wants, 1 championship and 9 years of bad compared to always being competitive. I’m living it as we speak.

My childhood hockey club, HV71 have been competetive more or leas the whole 00s. We won our latest championship in 2017 against a team called Brynäs (Brynaes). This year some expert expected HV71 to win the title. Fast forward to today, HV71 ended up at the last team of 14, worst place since I was born, so now they’ll play a play-out against Brynäs, best of 7. Looser stays in the tier 1 league, the loser goes to the tier 2, losing millions in TV revenue. Since only 1 club goes up each year since a recent change getting back isn’t easy. Several club has become stuck in tier 2 after going down for the first time ever. I’m fucking scared. I’d trade all but the 1995 title to not have to live through this horrible match series.

Hey fellas hope u had an awesome easter !

So I love the quote Risner made about drew ….Roughly saying drew has heard all the chatter and he understands he deserves it and he’s approaching everything like he has to improve massively and has to be better and is working hard to show he’s the guy

This reminds me of Bolles accountability before last season accepting that fans had every right to boo him …..

So on a scale of 1-10 how would you scale your belief for Bolles to turn it around last year ….. Vs where would you scale drew’s ability to turn it around on a scale 1-10

My Boyz!

Cost Controlled QB is the answer. Not just to drinking. The salaries of the throwers have gotten too monumental to sustain the viability of the lower ranks. We must draft a qb if this corps of guys is to reach the zenith. Even if Lock progresses, I fear we will be well into the depth of his money before the heights are illuminated. Draft a QB! If Lock wins the battle, great. If not, we have 4 years of bean-hucking on the cheap so we can keep this D together.

Guys, I hope your weekend and Easter was awesome!

It seems like the other AFC West teams made a lot of moves this past offseason. I’d love for you guys to rank the Broncos against their in-conference rivals!

To me, the Chargers likely had the best offseason of the group, with our Broncos as a close second. Can’t wait to see what you guys think!

Hey guys!

Mase, who played Sideshow Bob’s brother, and why was he cast to play him?

Finally, we come to the NFC South. Let’s start with the Atlanta Falcons. The immediate answer is Superbowl XXXIII, it was Elway’s last ride as a player, the team absolutely dominated the Falcons. What I didn’t know was that Elway had never lost to the Atlanta Falcons as a player, but has never beaten them while in the front office. So what other games stick out, for both Denver and Tampa Bay?

Another day, another mock draft where the broncos take parsons at 9. Gosh I hope that doesn’t happen. If we don’t get a quarterback I don’t even see a position where we can draft at pick 9, the positional value just isn’t there for us providing a guy like penei or pitts fall

I believe Shurmer is out after a few games this season. Fangio will get tired of holding teams to 10 points and the O only posting 9. Also, has he been going to the pro days or has it been mainly Shula? Hey Pat, go join Flacco on the surface of the sun.

Have a great day!

Hey guys! Just wanted hear your thoughts on this scenario.

Broncos trade 9 (DV 1350)to Jets for 23 (DV 760), 34 (DV 260) and Sam Darnold.

Who says no? And what would you change?

Bleacher Reports mock draft has broncos taking OT Slater at 9?? I don’t see it.

Seems like broncos are in a great position to draft BPA APIN (at position in need). Paton set up the team to be solid all around but has holes next year (CB, S, LB, T, RB). I think Paton takes this draft to accumulate assets and prepare for those holes in this draft.
