I’m extremely thankful that Zac got some R and R but my world is a vacuous and sterile place without the musings of the z man. Without his comments on life’s little foibles, his puns, and subtle jabs at the rest of the power trio, I’m left felling empty and listless.

My Boys! Let’s talk Broncos Football:
What are the best Kicks in Broncos history? You can go for the records, sure. Prater and Elam set the record. But there have been some very important kicks. In 2015 B Mac was money all playoffs long, and hit a couple huge 50+ yarders vs Pittsburgh. Elam has had a few game winners, and of course the famous Karlis kick in The Drive that Cleveland fans like to say was missed. Jim Turner maybe?
I can’t remember if it was 2001 or 2002 but Olindo Mare hit a game winner against us on Sunday night I believe. I also remember a particularly lucky catch by Randy McMichael. It was a heart breaking loss, but a very impressive kick by Mare. If anyone remembers this game please reminisce, I just remember being crushed. Both 2001 and 2002 were so close to playoff appearances but just did not pan out for us.
Thanks as always for your kindness and patience. You guys are the best. Go Broncos!

My boys!
BLUF: some ramblings about musicians and football that can totally be skipped. Also, how did the NFL work prior to free agency?
If you don’t mind, I’d like to throw in my two cents on the discussion about what football positions equate to in a band as this is something that I’ve thought about quite a bit. I, a lead guitarist, have always thought of my role as being a lot like a receiver and here’s why: we usually are the number two in a band behind the singer in terms of popularity and recognition (similar to a WR is to a QB) but we still have our moments to shine (the walkoff DT TD in the wildcard game being like an outro solo). But most importantly, guitarists are divas! We generally want to be the center of attention and this can cause some strife between us and the singer (think how the relationship between AB and Roethlisburger fell apart). I’d say that running backs are similar to rhythm guitarists in that they are incredibly integral yet don’t get the same attention. Also, a great one (RB and RG) can completely change the outlook of a team/band. They also still have their moments to shine (think the Metallica solos James Hatfield plays). Drummers are offensive lineman in that they are incredibly underrated but everything starts there. You can’t have a pass play if no one can block; similarly, you couldn’t have Stairway if Bonham couldn’t count to four beats or handle the tempo changes, yet he’s generally not the first thing you think of when it comes to that song. I feel like TEs/FBs are bassists and QBs are obviously singers. I’ve had plenty of bands fronted by a David Carr or Chad Kanoff in my day.
My question: how did the NFL work prior to free agency? We’re guys restricted when it came to leaving teams at the end of their contracts? Just something I’ve always wondered.
Thanks, and go DNVR, RK, Zac, Mase, Iceman, and every other person in this great community.

Hey guys!
This week, we’re covering the AFC East. Which brings us to the temporary home of the Blue Jays, Buffalo, New York. In recent years, Buffalo has felt like a house of horrors for the Orange and Blue. Breaking a neck on a kickoff, getting penalized for joking around with a friend, whatever we are calling the Brandon Allen game, weird and unfortunate things seem to happen when the Broncos play the Bills. What is the greatest game against the Bills and their Mafia? And the Bucs, Mase?

Ok RK, listen to me on this one, I beg you.
Please film you, Mase and Zac each enjoying a tablespoons worth of Vegemite as your first try. I can not stress this enough – do not try it before hand. This is a very special moment for all your Australian listeners.
Periscope, a tablespoon each, and go to town.
After that you can try it with butter on toast, on a toasted cheese sandwich, with avocado on toast and a thousand other ways.
But first one is for the family.

Well boys this is the week. Coming to Denver on Wednesday and staying through the weekend. Going to go on a sponsor tour and check out Blake’s street tavern, the farmhouse and mile high green cross. What other places/things to do would you guys suggest while we’re in town? Mainly were thinking were gonna walk the town and get a feel for the city but any ideas are greatly appreciated!
PS hope you had a good vacation last week Zac!

i can’t remember who said what exactly, but i know at least one of y’all had the jets game as an L.
does jamal adams getting traded move the needle for y’all? do you think the broncos can win that game now? fwiw bradley mcdougald is a very underrated player. i was impressed with him when the broncos played seattle in 2018 but he’s no jamal adams.
also, on the subject of adams. i know he’s a couple years younger than justin but if adams is going for two firsts, a starting caliber player and a third rounder, then justin has to be at LEAST a first rounder. with that in mind, is there any scenario where you consider trading him for a first rounder- especially now that the broncos have shown reluctance to give him a long term deal? i know it’s not something a team that has playoff aspirations usually does, but the writing may be on the wall with simmons’ long term future.

Hello, DNVR fam! I rarely comment as I simply enjoy the comments from the regular, quality commenters like Iceman (i miss him), LDJ, Dan Birk, OF COURSE, THE Count, and many others. I also LOVE to hear from the new subscribers.
Please disregard the remaining portion of this comment if it goes against the rules of your company since they aren’t sponsors.
Anyway, to contribute to the ongoing conversation of sauces, PLEASE go check out my great friends at Blue Devil Pits! Just use promo code: DNVR20 for….. ok ok, just kidding. Anyway, these guys produce some of the best quality BBQ sauces and rubs. This company is a small start up and they are long time family friends of mine. They are genuinely the kindest people I know. I told them that if I commented about how great their products are, they will not be able to keep the products in the shelf as this community will come through MAJORLY. Don’t make me look foolish, fam!
I haven’t been this optimistic for a broncos season since I talked myself into Mark Sánchez being a legitimate QB who could lead our Super Bowl roster to the playoffs…..
Soooo dumb of me. Love you all. It is more than football with you guys; It is family.

MY BOYS! Thanks for the well wishes concerning my spouse’s surgery last Friday. She is recovering well, and we will have results from a biopsy next month. . . . It’s great to have the power trio all back together. Zac, I hope that you had a great vacation. . . . What is going on with Adam Gase in New York? I remember Mase stating that Gase was one of the most personable people on the Broncos’ staff that he interacted with over the years, showing a true concern for others. Has Gase changed since becoming a head coach? Why does it seem like he alienates all of his players, first with the Dolphins and now the Jets, and is unrelateable. I will always be grateful that the Broncos did not consider making Gase their head coach in 2015. I am not sure that a declining Peyton Manning could have kept that team afloat that season. How do you think the 2015 season and the future turn out had the Broncos seriously considered and hired Gase to be their head coach?
Have a wonderful week ahead! DNVRMY SALUTE!

Thank u crybaby Keenan Allen for giving me something to smile about as I’m worried about the NFL season given the first outbreak amongst a professional team ?…. Anywhoo …. Idk who annoys me more …Keenan Allen being a cry baby ? Or Chris Being captain save a hoe for him ….. How dare Chris ! We defended u against idiotic choker fans for years ! And then u go join the team and now I caping for him I wanna throw up ! Freaking gross Chris ! Screw Keenan Allen until he publicly apologizes for disrespecting u Chris Smh ….. But the audacity of him …. Granted my feelings.may be immature in saying this but imma say it ….if Keenan Allen, steffom diggs , Odell Beckham Adam thelen if they don’t step their game up to elite status they are gonna be the vets not held in high regard I’m more excited for Justin Jefferson this year then Keenan Allen he’s more talented more athletic then Keenan Allen a leader and not a crybaby ….. Jerry jeudy is the non diva version of Odell Beckham and steffom diggs combined …… Lol Keenan Allen sucks how dare u compare urself to tyreek hill he has a ring on his finger and unlike u Keenan he isn’t the broncos Son for his whole career SERIOUSLY THO !!! …other then Keenan’s rookie year when jack del.rio was an idiot and decided to put Quentin jammer on Keenan Allen he’s been terrible against us for the most part ….. Like if he was humble he’d be respected but u gotta run ur mouth and then players show up to shut ur cry baby self down …..Keenan Allen sucks!!!!!… but hey U see Jerry Jeudy ode to the legends ( he messed up u definitely PUT rod smith on there before Ed McCaffrey young fella and dt ! ) But it was awesome and he has agreed to terms all of our rookies have LETS GOOOOO !!!!! also how big is Netani Muti why did he looks significantly bigger then anybody going to get tested for covid geesh lol !!

Well, I’m sure you guys will have already commented on the Miami Marlins fiasco by this point in the pod, but I want to chime in just briefly. I’m thinking about the ramifications this could have on the NFL, whose closest comp as a league is the MLB since both leagues are attempting to play a season outside of a bubble.
To me, it is utterly unconscionable that the Marlins were aware of positive Covid cases in their locker room and still determined to move forward and play games. By knowingly fielding a roster that included infected players, they put the rest of their locker room and the entire Phillies roster and staff in danger of contracting a dangerous virus. From a financial standpoint, they have put the entire MLB season in jeopardy, which could cost the franchises billions of dollars, and cost the players millions in their salaries. That kind of mismanagement and disregard for both player health and league operations should not be tolerated by the MLB.
So here is my question for you all: if a similar circumstance were to take place in the NFL and you had sole authority as Supreme Commissioner of the league, what disciplinary measures would you take against a franchise that knowingly fielded a roster COVID that included COVID positive players?
