Hey guys,

It seems evident that Drew Lock has a certain amount of swagger and even a non-repeatable nickname that embodies that image.

How would he be different if he went by Andrew Lock or Andy Lock? Or heck, how about Dre Lock?

Also, for another great voice on Vic’s comments (which at the time of posting he has apologized for) check out Domonique Foxworth on the Dan LeBatard show Hour 1: Pop’s Comments @ the 21:11 mark.

Hey dudes!

Thanks for the great coverage of both the offseason and these difficult times. I appreciate your sensitive and informed approach to covering such an important topic with honesty and willingness to listen.

On a lighter note I seek your advice on a trivial amd silly matter. I’m getting ready to deploy overseas and will be away from home for the entirety of the season! I need help picking one jersey to bring with me! Here are my options currently in hand:

Von Miller SB50 White
Von Miller SB50 Orange
DT Orange
Elway Dark Blue (Starter Brand/logos, I’m sure Mase remembers)
Lynch Orange
PFM Dark Blue

I’ll for sure be wearing my SB50 champions hoodie and my DNVR Run Phil Run and Von Miller GOAT shirts to workout whenever I can. Keep up the great work, Go Drew, and Go DNVR!

Don’t bother reading this out on the pod …

Poor Vic, I think he is just the typical well-meaning white person stuck in a bubble. His part of the NFL may be a meritocracy, and he just sees football players, but he is oblivious to the bigger picture of endemic structural racism (no black owners vs predominantly black players, limited guaranteed money for players, no Long term health care for players, Kap black balled, stigmas over black QBs, etc). Just a typical football coach really. But its essentially people like Vic who are an important part of the solution, as they wake up to the problem, and change their views and behaviour. It’s obvious that it’s not fair to expect the victims of racism to be responsible for changing a system they didn’t create. It takes everyone waking up and acknowledging the problems and speaking truth to power in favour of a more equitable society.

Hey guys,

When I read Vic’s initial comments yesterday I thought oh no, this isn’t going to be good. And then when I read his apology the next, I thought, still not good. I think I know what he is trying to say about everyone coming together on the field and players earn their spot but how can he not recall Kaepernick from just a few years ago? How can he possibly justify him not having a job if there is no racism?

Or how about the Rooney Rule in recent years? A lot of interviews with black head coaches are only a formality for many positions and now the rules need to change to get more minority coaches jobs. I understand white rich people hire people like them: white people. But that’s the problem. Every white guy who ever had a conversation with Sean McVay was hired last off-season, including Zac Taylor, woof. And still, Eric Bieniemy, who studied under an offensive genius for 7 years, gets passed over for four white guys and Ron Rivera.

C’mon Vic, I hope you’re not that blind.

Sorry I didn’t have much to say about football but right now this is more important. Keep up the good work guys.

Hey guys, hope you are all doing well today!

Who would win: 1987 Broncos with Peyton at QB instead of John. Or the 1998 Broncos with Kyle Orton or Tim Tebow (Your Choice) at QB Instead of John?

Last question is who is the best Oklahoma Sooner in Broncos history? I didn’t know Mr. B went to OU, but it makes me that much more proud to be a student.a

Boomer Sooner!

John Elway is the GOAT.

Peyton is King

did y’all see tj wards comments on vic and would y’all have any idea which players (assuming he was talking about broncos players and not 49ers/bears) might’ve told him that?

at first i was convinced it was chj but chris himself said he was surprised that vic said what he originally did. its usually the people you dont suspect so i wouldnt be shocked if it was gotsis or devontae booker lmao

MY BOYS! I am pleased that Vic Fangio reconsidered his comments, sought perspective from his players on his remarks, particularly those who have had much different life and football experiences than he, and then issued a contrite and sincere apology. I think it’s counterproductive when some parties have sought to ascribe malevolent intent to what he said. As Mase wrote, “Fangio didn’t see the entire picture with his comments.” Hopefully, Fangio can continue to listen to others’ perspectives, which may be much different than his own, due to having had much difference experiences and interactions, and continue to build trust and unity with his players as preparations for the 2020 season ramp up in the weeks to come.

This week, there has been some chatter about Von Miller’s play declining and that the Broncos could move on from him in 2021 to open up cap space. In your opinion, what type of season does Miller need to have in 2020 for Denver not to be tempted or forced to let Miller go in 2021?

Thanks to each of you for the daily, levelheaded podcasts and for fostering such an amicable and civil community. DNVRMY SALUTE!

Man what a day Fangio had huh geesh !!! I mean not to get political but since we’ve had our current president has there ever been this much divisiveness In America …..??? I’m arguing with friends about how fangio is Ignorant and tone def but he isn’t racist that’s unfair to say …… In hollywood u can’t get work if ur a open trump supporter u barley can in media …… Shoot what is media now how many people report the news with out thought pieces attached with their pov ??? But theres 2 things he has caused divisiveness in that was a universal language for the world …That’s music and sports …… Unlike music however …… Sports isn’t an individual effort and in echoing 45 rhetoric HE IS RIPPING TEAMS APART !!!!! I WISH WE COUKD KNO WHAT HAPPENED IN THAT MEETING …because I’m concerned that the players who sources have said we’re thoroughly upset with fangio …. How do they view him going forward ….. How does drew brees in which is definitely his last year get his teammates to follow his lead ……I have been embarrassed to be a broncos fan I’ve forgiven fangio he deserves the benefit of the doubt BUT THE BRONCOS (KNOCK ON WOOD ) WE DONT DO THIS WE DONT GAIN HEADLINES FOR NEGATIVITY …. If u do toxic things ( matt prater , chad kelly ) YOU ARE OUT OF HERE ….we may lose games we may not have been good but I never have to worry about the broncos being the headline behind negativity ….. I’m so thankful for Vons tweet it was powerful calculated and Missing based it exhibited true leadership but I hope and ?? fangio can grow learn listen help and evolve from his narrow thinking #1 and I hope he can regain the locker room because in my opinion I know this may sound provacative ??? But Drew brees might as well retire now he’s lost that locker room and it’s a damn shame ….. I will get back to football but it’s been a insane draining week to say the least ….

And u know what imma say it …The Nfl should feel weak and lame …. U let this loser who wasn’t good enough or qualified to be an owner ….RIP UR LEAGUE APART AND GIVE U HORRENDOUS PUBLICITY FOR HIS ENTIRE TENURE AS PRESIDENT HE HAS WON THE BATTLE OF WITS AND U ALLOWED IT SMH ITS A DAMN SHAME ….

But here’s the good news

“JERRY JEUDY HAS ARRIVED ”
Lately everytime I play with Jerry Jeudy in my madden league I keep thinking to myself …..WE LOST A MEANINGLESS GAME THAT PUT OUR PICK DOWN 4 SPOTS AND WE STILL!!!! DRAFTED JERRY JEUDY ….a top 5 talent in this draft is here in blue and Orange THANK U. FOOTBALL GODS LOL !!!

Afternoon everyone, hoping I got this comment in quick enough and apologies for the length in advance.

I first wanted to take a second and say how proud I am of our community, both DNVR and Denver. Talking to my friends nationwide I see our city being lauded for setting an example of how to try and affect change in an effective manner, it’s awesome.

Second I wanted to remind everyone that we are all on same team, despite our differences in viewpoints, backgrounds, ways of expressing ourselves, or upbringing we all want the same thing and that’s equality for everyone. I understand people saying Vic missed the mark with his initial comment or someone saying Drew Brees was wrong despite his attempt to show solidarity, but before we criticize we should ask ourselves one question, “was there ill or malice intent in their words?”, and nearly all the time the answer is no. They may not say what we want them to say and they may not “get it” but if they meant well it shows they have the foundation and willingness to help, and that’s the most important part. We can work out the finer details as we stomp out racism together, but every breath we spend criticizing each other is one we waste not fighting the true enemy. Today’s reporting on my sports apps was 90% criticizing each other’s comments of support, 10% football, and almost no support for the movement. We gave the real enemy room to regroup by pointing our attacks inwards.

Remember there are no trophies at the end of this battle for being the most righteous, well spoken, or socially just, our prize is we are all equal; there is however a burden to bear for failing to unite and it’s continuing to live in a world where all lives are not equally valued. Keep fighting the good fight, I’m truly impressed by what everyone is doing, but remember if you hear something you disagree with it’s better to educate than isolate and positivity is the best way to encourage someone to see things from your perspective. Have a great one,

Danimal
