Mile High Till I Die
Hackett’s biggest mistake was not hiring a more experience coaching staff. Aside from that, I still think most of this years issues fall on Russ and on injuries. This offense has no identity because Hackett came here to run Wide Zone and Russ wouldn’t do it. He made Hackett bend to what he wanted on every level and it forced Hackett to retool his entire scheme and playbook for an aging ego maniac. Hackett had neither the experience or the balls to put Russel Wilson in his place and run this team the way he wanted. I fully believe that with any other quarterback and a more experienced staff, Hackett would have done great things here in Denver. Russ ruined Hackett’s career and he’s gonna ruin at least one more head coaches career before we can ever get rid of him. All I can hope is that if he’s this bad next year he’ll have enough class to retire rather than continue to drag this organization through the mud.

Hi guys,
This was obviously the right move. Historic in a terrible way, but you can’t send a message to the team or fan base that this amount of losing and (earmuffs) fucking up repeatedly is allowed.
I don’t really get the discourse on Paton. We say any GM would have made that move, then crush him after it goes wrong with a rookie head coach (yes that he hired) and the most injured team in the league? Keeping him for now is the right move and taking some power away is the right move. What GM around the league doesn’t make some of the mistakes GP has? What’s the standard for GM’s now and how does Paton stack up to this person? Love you guys and can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

I don’t think I have ever been this bummed out over a firing before. Hackett had everything going for him. A likeable guy with a good offensive mind and the best vibes out there. I wanted him to be the guy so badly but yesterday’s decision was the correct one. He had to go.
Moving on to yet another coaching search is tiresome but I’m just glad we have the best crew around to make it entertaining and give us all the information.
Side note I’m all for #RKforHC. Only other person I know besides myself that was all over Mike McDaniel before he was “discovered”. That alone should sell anyone.
Also today’s my birthday and I’m so happy to be spending it with my family here at DNVR!

OK Guys-I have come with answers. What happened Sunday? Pick the best excuse.
1-Nickelodeon informs the NFL Sunday morning that the slime machine for the Broncos endzone not working, so with all the slime ordered for the game the NFL script writers call an audible and call for the Rams to score on every drive.
2-After reports that Hackett may be kept around because players are still playing hard for him the last 2 weeks, the players decide to take actions into their own hands and show that they did quit on Hackett as a Christmas Present for Broncos fans 2023.
3-McVay went into his deep memory of his 5 seasons with Evero and is able to envision the entire Broncos gameplan from snippets of talks in the past with Evero. With this information in hand, McVay puts together the perfect game plan against the Broncos.
On a side note, lets see how smart you guys are. What does Steve Tensi and Russell Wilson have in common?
(They were both traded to the Broncos for 2 first round picks)

Great emergency pod guys, as always thanks for getting together on a holiday and putting out a great episode. My only counter point to Henry is that this job is only 1 of 32 in the league. Applicants will be plenty. Just really hoping that Russ had a bad year due to coaching and is able to rebound. Almost every single game this season, he looked like he’s seeing ghosts out in the field. Not comfortable at all. Great QBs recover from seeing ghosts, bad ones don’t (like Darnold at Jets, when he openly said on camera that he’s seeing ghosts). Anyway have a great holiday period y’all, thanks!

Driving through the state over Christmas I had to do a fair amount of swerving to avoid all the heads rolling out of broncos HQ! Round four of the post-Peyton Head Clown search and I have one point of emphasis for the new candidates…..I don’t give a flying F about your vibes or how cool you are, I care about wins, not your hallmark movie habits, beastie boys albums, or anything else.
And I personally prefer a new coach with skinny ankles so when he puts his foot up Wilson’s butt day one his ankles snap and it stays up there until Wilson acts like a player and not a celebrity. Step two is booting his spoiled wife out of the facility and changing the locks on his office. Don’t tell Wilson, just change the locks and let him eat some humble pie when he sneaks out of the locker room to go upstairs and has to come back down embarrassed.
Merry Christmas everyone, here’s to another year of irrelevance
