Hey guys! I am glad we have finally a offensive head coach and have a chance at getting Rodgers. If we do not get Rodgers it will interesting to see what they do for quarterback. Hackett was part of the Packers organization when they were really interested in Lock. Who do you guys think we will get if we don’t get Rodgers?
With George Paton and Nathaniel Hackett running the show, I couldn’t be more excited about the identity and vibes around the leadership of this team. I hope that energy makes its way to the players and ultimately onto the field. You see things like Club Dub in Chicago and the boom box guy in San Fransisco and you can’t help but miss having some juice/swagger in our program.
Also really interested to know what this offense will look like schematically. He’s seen as a Shanahan tree guy but the offense Hackett actually runs is an updated variation of the uptempo no-huddle K-Gun from the 90’s Bills NOT the Shanahan/LaFleur WCO. The football nerd in me can’t wait to see if Hackett blends in elements of both schemes or runs his K-Gun variant.

Hey just saw something that says if you hire a minority coach you must give that team 3rd RD draft picks. Wouldn’t this hurt more minority leaders in getting the position? I feel this goes in the opposite direction they were planning

So stoked they finally hired a guy who can actually hack it as an NFL coach! (Pun intended)
All jokes aside, is it a foregone conclusion that Drew Lock is off the team this year? Obviously if Rodgers comes in he’s the guy, but if this draft class is as bad as it sounds, I’d be interested to see what Hackett can do to course correct Drew’s career. Seeing what the Giants said this week about Daniel Jones hit close to home with the Lock era, this team has done everything to set him up to fail, it’d be nice to find out if he’s got any potential before he’s in another uniform.
Either way, I believe this season will be different, so refreshing to listen to Hackett pressers and hear about his philosophy.
Thanks for all you guys do!

With the hiring of Hackett now official, I’m sure there will be a ton of speculation as to who his staff and coordinators will be. Nobody will truly know until the hires are complete but any ideas on how long it will take to get a staff in place? How long does it normally take for a coaching staff to get hired?

One thing I love about Hackett is that he is a lifelong learner. Some coaches and people in general pick their scheme and stick to it. After learning about Hackett, it seems clear that he comes from the west coast offense but saw what McVay and Shannahan were doing and learned from Lefleur. For some reason as a society we have decided that to change your opinion in any way is a sign of defeat. It should be the opposite. Learning new information and adjusting your point of view or coaching scheme is a wise. Super excited about the hire #InGeorgeWeTrust

If Rodgers only has one year left on his contract before he’s a free agent. Wouldn’t make more sense to wait until next year, instead of trading away a could be Bronco for a decade in PS2 and multiple high draft picks?

My boys,
It’s going to be an electric off season, I was hoping The Hack got the job, and I was sold after the Step Brothers quote, and to top it off he’s a Star Wars man, get your request in early for him to be on 3 ring circus, and a star wars/star trek character draft sounds good.
Cheers

We live in Oregon, so we received the news of Hackett’s hiring at 4:30am (Shoutout to all the Broncos fans who run on Pacific time or later). Didn’t matter, we were still pumped!
This offseason was at first about cleaning house, and ownership and QB questions still need to be settled. But now we know who will be helping change the culture of this team, and we’re thrilled. Older Sobey is a teacher (another shoutout to all the teachers working during the pandemic). When interviewing potential candidates, his go-to question is “How will you adapt when your lesson plan falls flat?” Hackett’s résumé and personality indicate that adapting to his personnel won’t be an issue.
We do have lots of questions about the draft, free agency, and scheme, but we’ll wait until after the coaching staff rounds out to ask them. Go Broncos.

An interesting quote on Aaron Rodgers:
“He starts playing safe. It always comes down to relationships and this has always been my theory on Aaron, who has fought with his own family. Guys like Brady are all about relationships, they make stuff work. Tom Brady gets along with EVERYBODY. Relationships are about trusting and elevating others. Tom is optimistic and he’ll make it work. Aaron is cynical by nature and not trusting. After Marcedes Lewis fumbled, Aaron changed. ‘UGH, I’M A VICTIM AGAIN! TEAMMATES AREN’T THERE FOR ME!’ The next two drives were 3-and-out, 3-and-out, played it safe, no yards. The Niners defense is good, it ain’t THAT good … You’re at home, be DARING. Joe Burrow is getting the you-know-what kicked out of him for three-and-a-half hours and doesn’t care, DOWNFIELD. Stafford’s team is melting around him, doesn’t care, DOWNFIELD. All these quarterbacks – down the field, stopped playing safe, protecting a legacy – because they have relationships. Aaron doesn’t have any, and the minute something goes sideways, I’ve said for years, he is a BAILER, not a BALLER, the last guy you would want in a foxhole.” – Colin Cowherd saying what Zac Stevens was feeling for years.

Is it just me, or is Hackett’s rumored staff extremely underwhelming? Losing Munchak should’ve been a non-starter. This guy better bring in Rodgers because he looks like he’s in way over his head. He’s a manchild.
