Michael Penix Jr. had an incredible Pro Day at Washington which boosted his stock in the 2024 NFL Draft. Did Michael Penix Jr’s stock rise enough where the Denver Broncos and Sean Payton will have to trade UP from 12 in order to draft him?
Plus, is there any scenario in which the Denver Broncos re-sign Justin Simmons? Will the Denver Broncos new uniforms be great? The DNVR Broncos Podcast answers all those questions on their mailbag.

Hey hey Dnvr Crew!
This may seem outrageous, but there’s a lot of news surrounding Dak Prescott potentially playing out the last year of his contract (as well as McCarthy), and that the team is ok letting him test free agency in 2025. If they aren’t willing to give him a (massive) contract extension this off-season, it feels extremely likely that he hits free agency. He was playing at MVP level for most of the season and while they did get bounced early in the playoffs, he’s still a quality QB.
Is there a scenario where Paton calls up Jerry and offers the 12th pick along with a 25 first for Dak? This would make sense for both parties. Sean gets a qb that fits his system, and the Cowboys aren’t forced to pay him or watch him leave in free agency.

Also, Henry (I call him Bad-Take-Hank) had a crazy take on the Rams a while back. He mentioned that Puka Nacua was solely responsible for the Rams winning 5 more games than in 2022. You forget that 3 of their other selections in that draft were studs from the get-go. Steve Avila (G) started every game, Byron Young (OLB) had 7 sacks, and Kobie Turner (DT) had 9 sacks. Not to mention Kyren Williams breakout season and a healthier Mathew Stafford. Puka was fantastic, but a rookie WR being responsible for an additional 5 wins is just a bad take, Hank.
Other than his bad takes, Henry’s the best part of the pod

Hey boys! Of all the draft scenarios flying around for the Broncos, the one that seems the most nonsensical to me is trading back from 12 to draft our QB later in the first round. I understand that folks are looking at “value,” but when you’re hoping for a Franchise QB there is no sliding scale. Either they are one, or they’re not. If Penix or Nix are identified by Sean Payton as being their guy, you draft them at 12 or earlier. You don’t trade back and risk losing them to another team. If they pan out, no one will say they over drafted them at 12. But if they don’t think they’re worth drafting at 12, then why would they be worth it at 20? You either like a guy or you don’t, which is why I think we draft a QB 12 or higher this draft. What do you guys think?
