Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy was one of the biggest winner of the NFL Combine.
Will J.J. McCarthy not be on the board when the Denver Broncos and Sean Payton pick at 12 in the 2024 NFL Draft? Will Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos have to trade UP to get him? How far up?
What teams could draft J.J. McCarthy ahead of the Denver Broncos? Could UNC’s Drake Maye fall to the Denver Broncos? That and more is discussed on the DNVR Broncos Podcast mailbag.

I definitely think JJ MCarthy should be a candidate to trade up for in the draft. If this is Sean’s guy, do whatever you can get to him in the orange in blue. With that being said, I agree with that Zac and that the Broncos should sign Kirk Cousins but at the same time draft JJ. With JJ only being 21 years old, he can sit behind Kirk for 1-2 years and learn the system. Kirk is coming off of an Achilles and should be cheaper than normal. Kirk will keep the Broncos relevant and we will have a QB to ready to start once we move on from Kirk. Thanks guys for all that you do.

What’s up fellas! My lady and I just closed on our first home together #nonorerenting, we’ve been together for almost 10 years and have been together since JR year of high school. I turned her into a die hard broncos fan and we drove from New Mexico 3 times last season to come to the bar and watch every division home game. Also, she’s letting me keep my man cave and I was curious to see if I buy me a SB50 champion Todd Davis jersey and send it up to you guys, if I could get it signed and shipped back to be the first addition framed and up in the new house? Thank you all for what you guys do man you guys are amazing. Thank you. (P.S. it sucks that Russ didn’t work out, but I’m looking forward to a bright future… please be a bright future)

I’m seeing a lot of hindsight in the media suggesting the Broncos should have started their rebuild last season to maximize the trade value their roster could have returned.
But that completely overlooks the value we gained by just playing relevant games last season. Attending SNF against Minnesota on 11/19 was a high point in the season and even the last 5 years for me.
To me, being a sports fan is about experiences in the present. Not some continuous waiting for some grand payoff down the road. If that’s what you want, watch Game of Thrones.

Now that we see the rebuild coming, what 2023 team do we think our team should follow this year? Sean said last year he wants to be like the Lions, but maybe the Rams are a better model for us? Young, scrappy, under-talented team that gets wins on the back of strong coaching. Or maybe the Packers, with their young unproven QB and a hodgepodge of yet-to-breakout receivers? Would love to hear your thoughts!
