Based on ProFootballReference, the Broncos offense has had 7.6 plays per drive (1st overall) for an average time of possession of 3.25 minutes per drive (2nd).
The offense has moved the ball and kept the defense off the field.
To that point, the defense has seen only 29 total drives (4th lowest) because the offense has eating the clock up. But, the defense has given up a score on 44.8% of those drives (5th highest) with 0 turnovers and 0 sacks (worst in the league). They are allowing 44.1% 3rd down conversion (10th worst) and 85.7% red down touchdown conversion (2nd worst).
It is because of the defenses inability to create a negative play (sack, interception, 3rd down stop) that the offense’s average starting field position has been the Broncos OWN 24 yard line.
This is the offense the Denver Broncos planned for and wanted. The defense however is NOT close to expectations. We know the Fangio defense takes multiple years for teams to learn after implementing and maybe holes at corner (Yiadom) and linebacker (anyone not Devin Bush) may have been critical flaw to the defensive execution.
Even with that, I see this team wining games if they can fix the flaws on defense. The offense is what was expected. This defense needs to turn it around.
TLDR; the offense has been successful in execution and the defense is mainly to blame.

When I was in college many epochs ago, scraping together loose change on the daily in order to fund my malted beverage regimen and fill the coffers of my thrift-store wardrobe, I once found a five dollar bill in the inner pocket of a GoodWill sport jacket I was trying on in an effort to trick any coed I could find to go on a date with the nerdiest guy on campus. Thereafter, and until this day, I have searched about a thousand blazers for another free lincoln but have located only scads of old Kleenex, reems of uninspired grocery lists and the occasional, poorly written love note.
Why do I bring this up? This is the exact same thing as Our Elway Problem. – John found his pot of gold in 2015 and has continued to attempt to recreate that extraordinary stroke of luck in the exact same fashion that Fortune so graciously provided us back then.
The difference between me and John, however, is that i have known since that first windfall that it would likely never happen again so I got a few degrees and a real job and went about things another way.
John is stuck. John’s trying to find that boon that ain’t never going to be there if he keeps trying to seduce serendipity like this.
With all my condolences

I love this comment!
After being able to collect my thoughts on the game, I will day I really liked what I saw from Bausby. The kid brought the juice on defense and made plays to keep us in arms reach of a win. Also a little piece of my life I’d like to share, I’ve earned a spot on a semi pro football team down here in Fort Worth, Texas. They have me working with the receivers, and if that’s where I end up when the official rosters are drawn up I’m definitely gonna be honoring the Broncos and the great and underrated Eddie Mac by wearing the number 87. Love y’all and hope y’all are having a great week

After listening to Ryan and Zac’s rendition of the reworked Pleasure Horse intro, I thought I’d try an update of the outro. This should probably be attempted only after numerous Breckenridge cold snacks. Looking forward to the harmonies.
“Losing on the Weekends”
It’s gettin’ me down
Watching these games now.
And I could have just as easily
Turned them off.
What makes me return is
That I need to feel hope
That somehow and someway
Vic gets it turned around.
Urgency!
There’s a lack of it
And I’m feeling sad.
All the years I’ve watched
We’ve never been this bad.
Once Vance left I thought
It was just a passing fad.
But we’re still losing on the weekends
Losing on the Weekends.
These players I loved
Are suddenly strangers.
The fire inside ain’t enough
To pull out the win.
Too many draft flops
Got us into this fix.
And behind the true studs
The depth is now really thin.
Sweet release!
“Trade me!” talk
Might not be far away.
Can’t seem to get it done
No matter how hard they play.
And when the fingers get pointed
At others in the fray
It makes for losing on the weekends
Losing on the Weekends.
Maybe when Drew returns
There’ll be happier new days.
We’ll put this behind us
Return to the winning ways.
And maybe Gumballs
Says goodbye to the holds.
And Lock to Sutton TD’s
Come after Phil’s last clutch play.
I need this please!
We used to have parades
After winning Superbowls.
Now when I hear Bolles
I know that it means holds.
And all the losing is really
Starting to take it’s toll.
Cause we keep losing on the weekends
Losing on the Weekends.

Hello there guys
A question keeps rolling around my head. If Von Miller had been drafted by the Pats would they have traded him by now? I dont like comparing with the Evil Empire but their lack of sentimentality on players is what keeps them as formidable as they are (Brady might have something to do with it too of course).
We have a little something going on here in the UK called Brexit and I would liken it to the Broncos right now. Hard re-build or soft re-build no one cares anymore just admit it and start rebuilding for crying out loud! Say what you want about the Fins but at least they committed to it. If we have a losing record when Lock is ready to play he has to start. If he doesnt all we are doing is hurting this team going forward.
Keep up the execellent work
I do think this team still cares, there are some vets that seem resigned to the fate, but the youth on this team is reason for this fanbase and coaching staff to have hope.
Horsewithhorns
You can see the building blocks there underneath all this but it needs to be embraced and get these younger guys time on the field. Its sink or swim time.
Guys, the Broncos are not going to draft Justin Herbert, chill on the hate. He’s completed 74% of his passes with 14 tds and ZERO INTS this year. He will be good on the next level. Anyway…
Love the new site, thednvr.com. Looks badass.
I agree with you guys, Fangio will not say the team is rebuilding, there is no point. The veterans will be lost at that point. I would still argue they ARE rebuilding on the go. Phil, Royce, Courtland and Dalton freaking Risner are absolutely going to be key in this teams success in future years. These men are giving it all they have. Fangio needs to back these young players in taking leadership roles, that is key. I am excited to see what Lock as to offer down the road. If Lock shows flashes in the final 8 (or so) games of the year, we will all be singing a different tune. Week-to-week hope is dwindling fast, but I am encouraged by the youth on this team.
Other than the offensive players I’ve listed, what youth (other than Chubb) on the defense give you guys hope for the future? Or, down the road, do we need to focus on that side of the ball?
BroncoBornBroncoBred
What’s up y’all!
If you don’t follow basketball at all go ahead and skip this comment. I’ve seen this song and dance before. What is happening with the broncos is exactly what I have endured as a Dallas maverick fan. The comparison is kind of scary. Both teams won an incredible championship behind amazing MVPs(Dirk and Von). After that, they tried over and over again to re create the magical runs. Would never admit defeat and realize that you need to just rebuild until enough had just become enough. Signing Case Keemun and joe Flacco is just like trying to sign OJ Mayo and Monta Ellis thinking that they’re gonna some how be great for you. It wasn’t until this past season, where we finally got our guy in the draft(Luka) and then traded away assets now for the potential greatness of Porzingis, that we finally have hope about our franchise again. I hate to say it, because I love Von so much, but I just don’t think we’re going to be great with Von on this team again, much like I had to accept with Dirk. Let me know yalls thoughts if you have any

Quick comment for you guys, love the rebrand of the website and app! Have you seen the video of Dalton literally blocking two guys??? Almost with ease.
Side note Stink stole your guys phrase damn good defense the other day…
TrueChampFan24
Risner is going to be an absolute problem for opposing defenses from here on out. Young dude has found his groove in the NFL.
ThreatLevelMidnight
The rebranding is sick, my dudes!!!
Mr. T
Hey Gents, it’s been a few months since my last comment. It was a different time then… filled with so much hope and excitement. Alas, I have two questions for you:
First, if we assume that Chris Harris and Garett Bolles aren’t on the team in 2020, which do you see being the biggest offseason priority: getting a left tackle, another starting CB, or getting a Fangio-approved inside linebacker?
Second, who ends the season with the better record: the Broncos or the Raiders? Thanks
FANTasy Fiasco
Whats up guys!
After finding this pod a little before the draft, and not missing an episode since, I figured it was about time I showed some appreciation to the best Denver Broncos content producers currently in the game. (I was a little disappointed the hunger strike didn’t happen during the Broncos Camp promo. We’ve seen the effects a little sleep deprivation has on you guys, just imagine how great it would be if you added a nutrition deficiency to the mix.)
I’m born and raised in the Bay Area, but I’ve been a Broncos fan since I started watching them as a kid when champ, lynch, and al wilson were running the defense. Legends! (Also, my older brother is an obnoxious raiders fan, so that helped too)
Question:
I’ll be visiting Denver soon to attend my first game at Mile High! We are planning on going week 9 for the Broncos Browns game Nov.3 (might get to see Drew Lock’s first start). My question for you guys is do you have any suggestions on where to get seats? Should we try and find tickets in the south stands as your intro would suggest? Any other spots you’d suggest? Not looking to break the bank here, already dropped $250 on plane tickets. Looking for something around $150, can you think of a good economy and luxury option at that price point for my 4 friends and me? Also, do you see prices dropping if the Broncos’ form doesn’t improve?
Anyways thanks for all the hours you guys put in to build this community, the quality definitely shows. Also, Mason is a great addition to the pod, glad to have you on here. Go Broncos! The toughest 0-3 Team out there!
(Sorry for the long 1st comment. Shorter comments to come)

You can’t spell “overcoming 0 and 3” without “D-N-V-R.”
Minnesota Paul
Boys, I might have missed it, but why would we wait for Locksgiving if we could start Locktober even sooner??
TrueChampFan24
There seems to be growing population of fans that are joining my fire Elway train.
I know he wont be fired, and i know he wont step down. Hopefully when his contract ends they wont re-up him or he will choose to walk away on bottom.
I believe we are in for a long long dark next couple seasons. Teams that can not get out of their own way, whether by bad drafting, roster improvements or lack there of, bad signings (James, Stevenson, Okung, Watson.. insert Right Tackle…) and sub par coaching go one of two ways, Total rebuild and a slow decent up, or steady at the bottom of the NFL because the man in charge refuses to change because he is stubborn and incompetent, Looking at Snyder and Elway.
Rarely does a GM or owner get out of their own way and do whats right for the franchise if they have created the problems to begin with. Jed York finally took a step back and let his GM work, and now the Niners dont look half bad.
TLDR;
Sorry for the long drawn out comment. All that to say John Elway needs to get out of the way or get gone. He is the problem. His ideal NFL team would work in the 90’s and maybe early 2000’s. Not now.
Stop forcing the issue and change, If Jerry Jones can do it, so can Elway.

Hey guys. I’m a bit behind on podcasts but I heard you did a call out for anyone in Frankfurt, Germany. I may be a few pods too late but hello from Frankfurt! And a shout out to all the other none USA based fans as only they understand the joys of waking up at random times of the early morning and late night to watch the beloved Broncos. Looking forward to Locksgiving. Prost guys!

Hey guys,
Everyone is calling for Locktober or locksgiving which is great but still 5 weeks away minimum. I am starting the Brandon Allen movement. Flacco has been fine (ish) but if I see him saunter to the line when time is of the essence again I will personally drive to dove valley and b**** slap him until he has a fire under his a**. Seriously, I am sure Allen can dink and dunk just as well AND get to the line in a hurry. I was a Flacco fan in the first place but when you get momentum rolling you take your time and let the D substitute? Just some urgency and I would feel better about everything.
Go Broncos
chilangobronco
Hey guys,
Did I hear correct??, that the actual “touch wood” plaque is made of ceramic ???????
When Mase “touch wood” with his head you mentioned it was ceramic.
Have you been jinxing everything ?????
Please STOP
Also please stop reffering to that aberration of crunchy tortilla lettuce and yellow cheese as “crunchy tacos” Those things are NOT tacos
Much love
PS I still miss Peko´s good vibes
EbTaylor
Better to be a Broncos fan and watch them lose than be a Patriots fan . Personally I’m enjoying the games as they are winning would just be a bonus .

Whaaaaat!? DNVR sounds pretty sweet but doesnt come out as natural as BSN, but it’ll become natural soon enough. What 3 positions, in order, are our top priority in the off season? Yes I went there. Thanks gents for the great DNVR coverage.
Craig L
Liking the feel of the rebranding and excited for what’s to come. But now it’s gone, can you finally tell us what BSN stood for it where it came from?!!!
cleonpack93
First off, love the rebrand! Long live the DNVR era!
One thing I love about our DNVR community here is the ability to have real conversations about the team that we love. I brought up the idea of a rebuild on another online Broncos community that shall remain nameless and it got down voted into oblivion and insults were hurled my way. So thank you everyone here for being capable of civil interactions. But this does make me wonder if fan feedback is going to prevent the Broncos from comitting to a real rebuild for awhile yet.
Iceman
Hey boys. Since the club is ” trying so hard ” per the DNVR Mafia, can one of the coach’s wives make sure after the Jags game that all 63 players on the club get an Orange slice and a participation ribbon? We’re down to ifs & butts & candy & nuts and ” moral victories ” going into just week # 4? The excuses are these:
1. Vic still looks like he is sick on the sidelines every time the camera shows him?
2. Since the 49ers made the DNVR Broncs their total bitches on their own practice facility and their home field, they are 3-0 in regular season play and we are 0-3, just saying.
3. Mr. B., we miss your guidance of your families team so much! GO DNVR

Soft tacos FTW
Also no one is asking the real question here… WILL THE NEW DNVR SHIRTS BE AS SOFT?!
I’m currently sitting at a chamber of commerce meeting as I type this with Jim Mora as a guest speaker. He talked a lot about creating a winning culture during his time with the Saints. He says A lot of it has to do with having winning personalities and hard workers who show up and want to get their hands dirty. As hes saying all this I’m envisioning this Broncos team. I feel really good about this team that’s assembled in Denver. I feel once one win, one sack, one 20 point game happens, it’s going to pour in. This team is not far off, I agree with Emmanuel Sanders about this team has the pieces here now.
Good are still things to come!
P.s. I’m sitting next to Billy Thompson’s sister-in-law at this lunch in, slight brag I guess?
DevMachine
Hey guys, I listen a lot but don’t post much. Needed to jump in here today.
– DNVR! I love it. Now pump out some new merch so I can buy it all.
– Thanks for hosting the watch party on Sunday. It was cool to get a bit of an inside peek at how you guys watch games and analyze what’s happening. I’m impressed by how much you are able to absorb while watching Twitter for the latest on injuries, etc.
– Question: What kind of scheme change could the Broncos do to create more pass rush? I keep hearing people angrily say they need to play better and I agree but it seems there should SOMETHING that Fangio could draw up to get Von and Chubb a better shot a the QB
