This will probably be a longer comment so my apologies right now.
I had a chance to go to the event today. The lines were long, but it was worth it. The class the event was carried out with was breathtaking. I am astonished the Broncos were able to put together a Pat Bowlen museum in four days. It was one of the coolest events I had been to. I got to meet former players and talk to them about their experiences with Pat. It was also really touching to meet and talk with the Bowlen family. My grandfather passed away from early onset frontal temporal dementia when I was 11. FTD is a specific form of dementia that is really aggressive, but impossible to detect until after death, so his initial diagnosis was Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s and all forms of dementia are incredibly painful diseases to both those that have the disease and their families. It’s an incredibly confusing and personal grief period. It was an amazing opportunity to talk and share my own grief with the family. I was blown away that they opened themselves up to the community in such a personal time of grief. It meant the world to me as someone who has been affected by the disease.
It was an amazing event down to the details. It was very cool to see all the memorabilia and the Lombardi’s in person.

Sorry if that bummed anyone out. I saw you guys from across the room but you were gone before I got a chance to say hi. Hope you guys enjoyed the event as much as I did.

One question for you guys. You both grew up in CO so I’m assuming you grew up Broncos fans. Being that covering the team is now your job how has that changed your ability to be a fan? Do you see the team as exclusively work (even if its a great job), or are you able to still find moments to just be a fan? I know traditionally as a reporter you’re “not supposed to be a fan”. Is that something you try to uphold, or do you feel things are different in today’s media market?

Thanks for all the coverage as always.

Sup fam.

I just saw an article by “sports analyst” Maurice Jones-drew that had Lindsay ranked as the 23rd ranked starting RB… Wtf is that? That’s an unreal amount of disrespect. Just for perspective he had Sony Michel, Aaron Jones, and Damien Williams amongst others ranked above him.

That’s Good Sports!

I’ve been a Broncos fan since day 1. BSN fan since before I was taking former Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer’s word on Elixonol. And a Perna fan since I saw that fantastic beard. I hear the That’s Good Sports intro music every time I see a dope beard in a sport jacket and tee. Looking forward to the collab.

1. I first want to apologize to perna… I was a patreon supporter of yours but then I found BSN. I still love you my man but I only have so much money to invest in Broncos coverage. Maybe you can convince me during this pod that I can do both.

2. My favorite Bronco is and always will be the albino rhino. Mecklenburg was the man. Under represented so far in the comments section.

3.

4. I just wanted to get past three out of respect for Mr. B. Prayers to his family and everyone he has affected throughout his life.

Hey BSN Family,

Had some things I wanted to say but wanted to to hold off to pay respect for Mr. B. If you don’t want to talk about them now you can hold off for a later date. So here we go.

1. Pretty cool to have a buzzer beater on Monday’s pod. I wasn’t even trying to do that. I for sure thought that I missed the cut off.
2. I always loved the blue jerseys with the blue pants. Also I might be the only person to love the yellow and brown jersey ( the Legacy Jersey )
3. Mr. B
4. Do you guys know if any of the players or coaches met Mr. B before he past?
5. How much motivation will the team have to get back on the winning ways now that Mr. B is watching from the box seats in the sky?
6. I read an article ( on NFL.com ) that ranked the teams on who had the best franchise QBs over the years. The requirements to be a franchise QB were winning regular-season record, minimum passer rating of 75.0, and have at least one Pro Bowl selection. Based on this, the Broncos finished in the top 5 as the best franchises only behind the Colts, Packers, 49ers, and the Cowboys. Here is the list of franchise QBs they said the Broncos had: Peyton Manning (2012-15): 57 starts | 45-12 | 3 Pro Bowls | 101.7 passer rating | 1 MVP | 1 SB ring.
Jake Plummer (2003-06): 54 starts | 39-15 | 1 Pro Bowl | 84.3 passer rating.
Brian Griese (1998-2002): 51 starts | 26-24 | 1 Pro Bowl | 84.1 passer rating.
John Elway (1983-1998): 231 starts | 148-82-1 | 9 Pro Bowls | 79.9 passer rating | 1 MVP | 2 SB rings.
Craig Morton (1977-1982): 64 starts | 41-23 | 0 Pro Bowls | 79.1 passer rating.
What is your guy’s take?
7. John Elway
8. Maurice Jones-Drew ranked all 32 RB1 heading into 2019 and had Phillip Lindsay coming in at 23. That has to be low right?
9. Have you guys heard of this Pink Pony theory that the Patriots send their coaches to other teams just to keep them down so the Patriots keep winning?

Thank you. Sorry for the long post. Keep up the AWESOME work.

Do you guys want to tell me how a player can average 5.4 YPC, go over 1000 yards and have 9 rushing TDs and somehow be considered the 23rd best running back coming into the 2019 season. The dude had a freaking rookie who hasn’t played a down in the NFL, ahead of Lindsay.

Reposting my comment from the other pod here 😉

We need to talk about Adam Rank projecting the Broncos to have a 2-14 record next year- with our only wins being against Detroit and Tennessee. My expectations of the 2019 season don’t really exceed a .500 season, but it’s crazy that there’s someone out here who believes this is the worst team in the NFL. What’s funny is that he was on the radio, saying that the team was a dark horse and said a similar thing in the ‘state of the franchise’ article y’all touched on a little while back, but I guess he has to make sure all his bases are covered.

That brings me to my next point- if the Broncos are picking first in 2020, which direction would you want them to go? Would you want them to give up on Lock and go for Justin Herbert (QB1 next year IMO and Elway has been rumored to be in love with him)? Or Jerry Jeudy who is the best WR prospect in years (I’m sure Ryan will tell me that Laviska is actually the best WR in next years draft ? ) or a defensive difference maker like Chase Young or AJ Epenesa?

I understand that there’s a lot of unknowns with this team, but they’ve clearly upgraded in several areas and were competitive in several games against some pretty good teams last year. I just don’t see them being a 2-14 team.

1. Alex Morgan actually walked over and comforted one of the Thai players while she cried.

2. No, I am not representative of the usual “white guy with dreadlocks”.

3. Y’all know.

4. If my BSN family don’t mind I’d like to put my English degree in poetry to work.

Hello Guys

First comment since Jan so will try not to make this long but wanted to touch on a couple of topic.

I got into the NFL by playing Madden 2002 on my PS2. Fell in love with it and then discovered my much older half brother was a Broncos fan since the 80s. Naturally I adopted them as my team. So purely by chance I became a Broncos fan knowing nothing of the team. I can honestly say now looking back I am proud to have ended up with a team run by Mr B. He just exuded class, the desire to be the best and most importantly humility. The man was like a swan, looking good and keeping calm on the surface but under the water paddling furiously to make the team better, the entire league better and the great game we all follow better. One of a kind and a true legend.

Also wanted to mention my disastrous first jersey. Back in 2002 it wasn’t as easy to get hold of NFL merch on this side of the pond so I spent what felt like a fortune ordering from NFL.com. I went for the XXL size as that was the same as the rugby jerseys i got over here. Due to my naivety on the size difference I ended up with what can only be described as a Brian Griese dress! Never to be worn in public and left hanging forlornly in my wardrobe never to see the light of day. Fortunately Griese left soon after so I had an excuse to buy another.
As of now I have Orange Von with SB50 patch, white von, blue Welker, orange DT, 2 throwback Elway ones and 3 Manning ones in all the colours. Maybe OTT? I have been banned from buying more!

Also thank to you guys as always for your tireless work covering this team and going the extra mile to keep us informed.

Cheers Dave

My Dudes!

I was so sad to wake up Friday morning about the news of Mr. B passing away a month or so before his induction. Regardless, I will be there to cheer him on during the HOF weekend. Everything the Broncos did to honor him was just beyond amazing. I loved all the picture Ryan posted on his thread last night, THANK you both for being our boots on the ground for us out of towners. Mr. B built something that I am so passionate about and for that, I thank him dearly. How awesome would it be if Brittany takes over as the owner? The Broncos will have a one of a kind owner that is a KICK ASS, young, educated, and successful women in a league full of guy owners. I look forward to that day, my wife is already cheering Brittany on. Guys my cousin and I will be at the HOF weekend and would love to meet some of my fellow BSN fam. If anyone is going to HOF weekend please email me at BADWAN88@gmail.com and I will start making a list of who is going.

for Perna – will you be in Canton for the HOF? would you join the BSN fam at a get-together.

1. Sorry for the time in between comments, my job has been taking a ton of my time.
2. My Broncos fandom started at birth when I was born in Fort Collins and it only grew from there!
3.Mr.B
4. My first jersey was a Jake Plummer jersey, then Elway, then TD, then I got a couple Cutler jersey, then an Orange Champ Bailey jersey that my mom melted in the washing machine, then another Champ Bailey jersey, then a Tim Tebow jersey (my favorite to where in puck up football games), then PFM, then a beautiful Super Bowl 50 Von jersey, and finally last Christmas my girlfriend’s mom bought me a Color Rush Phillip Lindsay jersey. I love jerseys and have at least 13 different basketball jersey on top of all the Broncos jerseys.
5. I went on twitter yesterday and say Ryan’s tweet about Adam Ranks’ awful predictions for the Broncos. I was listening to Orange and Blue 760 when he was telling the guys on their the COMPLETE OPPOSITE!! Mad me really mad but haters gonna hate ig.
6. Looking to get a new phone case, should I go with Jumping Phillip, Celebrating Von, and Scrabbling John?
7. John Elway
8. I think the Broncos are the most underrated team this year. Everyone is sleeping on Joe and the fact that this defense is going to be dominant. I predict a 13-3 season just edging the Chiefs out for 1st place and make an amazing run in the playoffs in memory of Mr.B
9. Thank you for all you guys do! You make my long drives to my territory that spans over 260 miles! You guys are the best!!

Hey guys! Hoping you could shed some light on the subject of who gets to take over for Mr. B.
You both seem to be very staunch supporters of Brittany taking over as soon as possible…but why her over Beth Bowlen Wallace? I’m not trying to start drama, I just really want to know your opinions for one over the other. It appears that both have done a lot in regards to doing what the Trust laid out in order to take over.
Thanks for answering, and GO BRONCOS

Hey guys, FOCO.OG here with a new name that’s less confusing. I wanna get my 2 cents in on the Adam Rank deal. First off I wanna point out that lots of NFL analysts on big networks get away with bold predictions early in the season and almost never take responsibility for them when they’re wrong 4 months later, primarily cause nobody remembers. Good morning football is one of my favorite football shows (on live tv) still not better than BSN Broncos Podcast. And they make bold predictions all the time and are never put on the spot when they’re wrong. Let’s not forget on the same show as the 2-14 broncos prediction, earlier Mark Sanchez predicted the Jets to go 13-3. Like absolutely not. These guys aren’t REALLY making honest predictions, they’re making good TV, getting people hyped up and angry so every broncos fan is watching their show when the broncos win their 3rd game to see if Adam will eat crow. Sorry to disappoint you. He won’t.

Anyway that’s my theory, I could be wrong and he could just be dumb. But regardless I think the broncos go .500+ too.

I know I already posted my AFC west predictions but I’d like to post them again to hear Brandon’s take on if I’m close or far off. (To Brandon) zack thinks I’m spot on and RK thinks I’m way off dropping the chiefs like 2 games. What say you?

Thanks guys, you rock and Brandon rocks too.

I think the Broncos go 9-7 and maybe get a wildcard spot. 3-3 in the division,
Chargers 12-4 and 4-2 division
Chiefs fall after losing Hill and Hunt and go 10-6 3-3 division and Raiders go 6-10/7-9 at best with only 2-4 division.

What say you Brandon?

What up, what up BSN Rockstars! Great pod yesterday. My question: Why doesn’t Brandon Perna do a BSN podcast kind of like McChesney unchained? I know I would subscribe to that. Even if the episodes were all short. And yes, I know that there already is a That’s Good Sports Podcast. I just like the idea of BSN and Perna joining forces.
Also, FYTB! I am very glad that all of the best Denver broncos media are on the same podcast today. Keep it up BSN Rockstars!
