New subscriber here. I have been listening to the pod for over a year. Finally joined for your awesome offseason coverage. Anyways my question is are all of the OTA practices available to the media? I love following you guys on Twitter and reading what you guys see as it happens. Thanks for the great coverage! It is well worth the price.

Hey duuuudes, if the team finds a running back that blows them away and becomes the obvious 3rd guy on the chart. Would the Broncos try to trade or cut Booker before the season starts? Also, if you dig a hole in the ground, it’s one hole due to one opening. So wouldn’t a straw have two holes due to two openings?

Hey guys I seen on twitter today that Garret Boles is working out with McChesney. Does this change how you feel about him going into the season?

Hi Zac & Ryan. I moved to Iowa from Denver about 2 years ago and struggled to find good Broncos content until I came across your podcast last fall. Thanks for making the Broncos more accessible!

I have to agree with Ryan. Eagles fans aren’t bad at all. I was in London last year, and I ran into a bunch of Eagles fans that had flown in for the game against the Jaguars. We were on a beer tour together, and it was a solid group! I started by thanking them for beating Tom Brady in the Super Bowl, and they appreciated that the Broncos beat him twice in the playoffs. Nothing brings NFL fans together like a shared hatred of Tom Brady.

Ryan – when we moved to Iowa, I really thought we would miss the beer in Denver, but they actually have a lot of good breweries here. I was pleasantly surprised. Don’t give up on the beer scene outside of Colorado. The food here is terrible, but if you drink enough beer, you don’t care as much about the food.

Any chance we can get some of the t-shirts in tall sizes? 2XL shirts are never long enough. #giantsarepeopletoo #teamonehole

Hi Guys,
Now that the OTAs are underway when can we expect you guys to give us your thoughts as to a mock 53 man squad. I know things will change before week one but it would be great to get an idea as to what the squad may look like.

Hey Zac & Ryan! New subscriber here!! Just want to say emphatically that I am one of the biggest Denver Broncos fans who is from Cali!! Got my first ever Broncos jersey which was a John Elway jersey that I got for my 7th Birthday which happened to be when we beat the Packers in the Super Bowl!! Ever since then I bleed the orange & blue!!

Anyways my question stems from the Chris Harris situation. I know this is in a couple of years from now but I’m already worried that John is going to have this same approach to Von Miller’s contract. Hoping Von stays healthy and continues to ball out, do you think Elway will have this similar approach to a Von Miller who will be close to his mid 30’s? I’m hoping to see Von in the orange & blue until he retires as he has clearly stated!!

Also keep up the Food talk..that’s what makes this podcast even more awesome than it is!! You guys should definitely try Panjabi food!! It’s the cuisine of the state of Panjab which is in Northern India/Pakistan!! Most Indian food/ Pakistani food you eat is Panjabi food!! I would recommend butter chicken/ chicken Tikka/ chicken curry!! This is a spicy goodness that trust me you won’t regret it!! Thanks guys

I don’t think Flacco should be viewed in a negative light, I understand wanting Flacco to mentor drew but it’s different when your nearing 40 and when your 34.joe doesnt realize he’s potentially done in the Nfl.

It’s one thing to train your replacement when you are happily strolling off to retirement on your own terms it’s a whole different thing when your being forced out by someone close to half your age.

Also go golden state, I can’t stand lillard and McCollum. And Jamal Murray was none existent in the play offs.

Did y’all see the Vikings had to restructure a player in order in order to sign their first round pick? Sure hope for their sakes cousins has a better year lol

Hey!
I hear you thought I had too many of my fav Keto snacks (yes, that’s a Bourbon on FeverTree soda with splash of lime), but check out the two podcasts listed on your website at the two following links, they are the same recording if you listen to them.

https://bsndenver.com/bsn-broncos-podcast-final-impressions-from-rookie-minicamp-and-expectations-for-otas/

https://bsndenver.com/bsn-broncos-bonus-podcast-what-we-learned-at-the-first-day-of-rookie-minicamp/

Or maybe I’ve had too many cold snacks again tonight, at this point it’s hard to say. ?‍♂️

Anyways, love the rookie camp and OTA coverage; I didn’t realize how much better listening to a podcast is vs reading an article about camps. There’s just so much detail that’s easier to absorb from a conversation than a written article.

PS, you tagged me for the white claw mixer info, but after some research, I got to say I’m not finding much. The alcohol in White claw is made from fermented sugars (not “vodka”), FWIW. As a “Keto Warrior,” I’m either sipping a 5% ABV alcoholic seltzer water, or a cocktail (soda + bourbon or vodka + lime), that’s a good enough pace for me.

BLUF:

1) There are a definitely situations where a person knows a month or more in advance about something and can not change it (even for OTAs)

2) When do player contracts become too expensive in the NFL or individual team?

Ryan

As for what can come up a month in advance and you can’t change the date. One thing I know of is a medical appointment. My wife is a great example of this. Due to medical conditions, my wife has 3 appointments with specialist. 1 of them she makes the appointment a year in advance. Not because that is when she is supposed to see the doc, but because that is when the next available appointment is due to the doc being a specialist. The other 2 appointments are usually made 3 to 6 months out due to availability of the docs.

So who knows what there is, but if Coach Fangio agreed to him being gone, then there must be a good reason for knowing a month out.

On to the Broncos.

1) I agree with you guys about Flacco’s view of not being the one to mentor Lock. That is on you Coach Scangs and Lock. Best to all three!

2) I agree that Chris Harris Jr should be paid for what he can do for the team, not for what he did for the team. Saying that, I think Harris should be the highest paid BRONCO cornerback. 15 million a year is a little too rich.

3) Where does it stop??? Player’s contracts becoming so expensive for a team. With elite players wanting to become the highest paid player at their position (or ever) contracts are becoming higher and higher every year. I understand there is a small number of “elite” players, but there is always 11 minimum per year. With the price of players. When do teams /GMs step in and say enough is enough. When do contracts get passed up because they have become too expensive, that if a team were to pay a player a certain amount they can not afford to have other decent players on the team?

GO BRONCOS!!!

I agree the owners and GMs need to put the players back in their place. Boss makes the rules employees work for the agreed money. These hold outs can’t continue.

Zac, to answer your question about how much Peyton Manning made during his career. Basically for 18 years:

On field (Salary and Bonuses): 249 million

Off Field (Endorsements and Licenses): 150 million

Total: 400 million in 18 years. Highest in NFL but not in America sports.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the T shirt discount offered to us that suscribed in a time with no offers were available. It’s speaks great of you.
A thought and a question.
I think we should stop the story of Flacco not mentoring Lock, I can see it growing and growing and being blowing out of proportion easily. I only saw a very honest Joe talking to the media, and in no way I saw anything wrong with him. I am all for Flacco being our QB and it is great having Lock as our sub and future.
The question is something that has been in my mind for a while. How do you see the players (specially the vets) responding to the coaching staff, How do they see Fangio, with respect? fear? do they seem to be enjoying more the practice than they did the last couple of years?
Thanks as always.
PS. Will be heading to Houston in December to catch the game, I think it is going to be one of the games defining the season
Much love (re-sign Peko please)

Sup dudes? You briefly mentioned him yesterday, but what’s going on with Will Parks? Is he running with the 1’s or is he playing backup right now? Stoked to see him have more playing time after last year’s efforts.

I like all your points on the Flacco/Lock topic. I liked Joe Flacco’s response. It was perfect. I enjoy hearing honesty for once from NFL players.

Good Morning, BSN Fam!

I was having a debate with one of my fellow Broncos buddies. We were talking bout Strap, and he believes that he should NOT be re-signed. (It took everything i had not to strike him lol ), he made his point about after we were driving and listening to the Pod one day and you said players needing to be versatile under Fangio. He for whatever reason believes Chris isn’t very versatile and is as he put it “a one trick magician”.

Maybe i am wrong, but i firmly believe Chris is one of the most versatile DBs denver has EVER had. Did he not initially enter the league as an Undersized safety. I remember watching him before he actually wore 25, lining up against Gronk and making a fantastic play on third down, separating Gronk from the football. I think i remember him wearing 3 and was listed as FS his rookie season before converting to Corner the following year.

I guess what i am trying to say is, if Fangio needs versatile players on the defense and in the secondary, There are not many in the league better than Chris!

Thank yall for the coverage, as always have a great day everyone, ( shaking fist..except you Elway! )

Couple corrections from above..

“he made his point after we were driving and…” there was an About in there that i am sure made it difficult to read.

Also i meant to say i think he wore 38, not 3.

Sorry, i am at work and should be concentrating on my inside sales, but i am trapped in an office on a slow day!

Thanks for answering my question yesterday. How does Rypien look out in practice?

Also, is Will Parks playing with the 1st team? I find it strange he’s barely mentioned.

Also, does John Elway love Drew Lock so much that Drew can ask him to wear #7? Lol fun to think about.

Aloha,

Hey guys!
You guys have made this offseason SO enjoyable, and have honestly never been more excited for a draft an upcoming season like I have been this year! I took Ryan’s advice and ordered “Take Your Eye Off the Ball”, as I have been a football fan all of my life but am wanting a better understanding of the game.
My only question for now is how does a guy be put into consideration for the fantasy football league this year? I have family that live in Denver so I’ll definitely try to make it for the draft/BSN Open if I’m able.

I know some of these opinions will be a little outdated since I’ve been listening for about 4 months now and finally gave in and joined the dark side.

Being from Iowa and having worked in a Pancheros while in college… there’s no contest Pancheros>Chipotle
