Hey guys,

Been a while since I commented (likely because of the three game win streak), have to say this may have been the worst loss I’ve seen in a very long game. Ryan nailed it on the head – I was in attendance in SF for the game and it was a completely embarrassing performance. The amount of Broncos fans in attendance who were treated to an utter disappointment was astounding.

So my question is related to the overarching theme of George Kittle single-handedly crushing us – how many weeks in a row can our defense fail at covering the Tight End? This has been a problem for this team since Super Bowl 50 and could not have been more evident in SF.

It was cool to see the stadium where we last were world champs, but seeing that pitiful display in person was awful.

Gotta imagine there has to be some changes at the end of the season because a loss like this to a 2-9 49ers team is unacceptable.

Hopf

P.S. fun fact – Case Keenum ranks 29th of 31 quarterbacks in total QBR according to ESPN. How do we throw it 42 times with a quarterback who is statistically worse than Blake Bortles?

Hey BSN family.
What a depressing Monday.
It even makes it that more depressing because I will be in town for the Browns game Saturday night and I had my hopes all set on going in there high on a 4game win streak. Oh well, I’m still excited to come back home and catch a game at good old Mike High.
You can catch me In the South Stands Drinking a Coors from Mile High, it’ll definitely be the best part of my weekend.
(Although I do fear that Baker Mayfield is about to pick our depleated and weak, soft secondary apart. Anyone playing fantasy football must start David Njkou. Lol)

But jokes aside what are some good Broncos hangout spots post or pre game. I moved out of Denver at 12 years old so I never experienced the more adult fun out there.

It’s still GO BRONCOS by the way. Till the end of time!!

hello guys, first time commenter here from New Mexico currently living in Tacoma, WA. Been listening to your show for a little over a year now and when I found out you guys offer military subscription I had to take advantage! Thanks YOU for YOUR service in bringing us listeners consistently solid content! lol
Wow. just wow. That game was hard to watch. Apart from the obvious atrocities such as letting a THIRD STRING QB utilize his TE at will against our linebackers and secondary, not scoring a touchdown until late in the third, and VJ and his staff failing to show any improvement despite coming off of a three game win streak, I do have some things that I liked in this game. Yes I too like to seek the positive things, it helps me cope. lol First of all, Bradley Chubb is developing into an elite pass rusher before our very eyes and it is very exciting to watch. If he can stay motivated, and break the rookie sack record, he has defensive rookie of the year in the bag easy. Second, I thought that Hamilton and Patrick looked pretty good. After watching them in this game I feel a little better about the Broncos maybe moving on from He-Mannuel Sanders if they cant restructure his contract. I didn’t think Hamilton was getting up after that monster hit he took in the middle of the field. That should have been an ejection IMO. Welp. That’s all the silver lining I got. Not looking forward to playing Baker Mayfield next week. Thanks again for the amazing content! Later!

Ryan – you mentioned giving up on VJ was like giving up on a rookie QB after a bad first season. This is what I don’t get – VJ was a secondary coach, not even a defensive coordinator, of a bad Dolphins defense. Taking into account the talent, our defense is much worse than our offense right now. NICK EFFIN MULLINS?!?!

Zac, you listed a bunch of potential reasons why we weren’t ready:
Excited about win streak.
Looking beyond SF
Believing the hype
Partying too much

All four of those rest on the shoulders of the head coach.

What was his appeal as a head coach? Why was Elway so excited to get him? What did he see that the rest of us didn’t, or what doesn’t he see that the rest of us do?

I think the analogy would be pulling a high school quarterback of a 4-8 team and telling him to start at Alabama, and then wondering why he isn’t doing well.

Here’s my poem:

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Raiders suck
And we do too

Ugh.

Hey guys,

Not the way to start a week with a Monday like this, but hey any given Sunday right? Hopefully the rest of week brings better news. Though as bad as a loss to the 49rs may be I do get to take solace in the fact that my BSN Locker merch came in today. Thanks to the sweet Cyber Monday deal, Christmas came early for me! Anyways my question is, at this point is it better to go full steam ahead for winning out? In my mind it would be better to put more emphasis on reserving our better players for next year especially with the recent string of injuries crippling the team. Thoughts?

P.S. shout out to Mr.Freeze and the rest of the BSN family for just being great human beings, makes the sting of this loss easier to deal with. Cheers, and Go Broncos!

So disappointed in that game. The Broncos had every opportunity to win in the second half. Case is just not good enough.

I’m hoping for major changes this offseason.

What are the chances the Tampa Bay Buccaneers give up on Jameis Winston? Would you guys get on board with signing him if he’s a free agent?

While I do appreciate Keenums leadership, he should lead by example and actually make plays. There are too many times when he has an open receiver in the flat and the ball is thrown nowhere near them. But I also blame Vance. Now I’m not the type to litter comment sections with, “fire Vance!” but Keenum didn’t have the juice against SF. While Lindsay also struggled, I like my chances with Phil and Royce than with Case.
Lastly I just wanted to add that I just witnessed the Seahawks beat the Vikings 21-7 with 38 carries for 200+ yards. Ground control with backs who’s talent is much less than the Broncos. Take that Vance!!

Come on guys. I brought BLUF to you maybe a week or two ago! Bottom Line Up Front.

Not only did Kittle beat the Broncos, but he helped beat my Fantasy League team! Congrats to Sack Lunch for the close win.

If the Browns win at home next week, what are the chances that VJ benches most of the starters so that they can see what they have in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th strings…..wait aren’t we there…..

Wow. Love the show guys. Can’t wait to hear what comes from you guys for the next few weeks. I can wait for the next game though. Can we start next season now? This one has went to the dumpster. Thanks for keeping our community from breaking out the pitchforks. I’m gonna go obcess over a few dream coaching staffs now.

VJ, I’d say you gave it a good run, but … time to dust off the ol’ resume.

On a lighter note, if you guys could have any record in the NFL record book, what would you choose? And the only way you can choose “most Super Bowl wins” is if you were the long-snapper.

BadOne Log 13:

I feel like a lot of people will blame Case for this loss or even say something like “if we had Baker or Rosen or anyone else..” But Case was running for his life all day long. That defensive line was having a field day pushing our guys around and it got worse when they blitzed. We have a lot of positives we can lean on for next year, we know what players we have can battle and who we need to build around. This feels like last year’s NYG game does it not?

Also, Where was Sutton at? this was his chance to be the guy and he didn’t really do anything. Anyways it was fun to ride this winning high and dream of making a historical comeback to the playoffs ?

Also Also, why do all CBS announcers hate the Broncos? no matter who is working the games they always throw shade at us and they take the other teams side.

Also Also Also, I met Khali Mack last night at an Allen Robinson auction (humble brag) and I thanked him for leaving OAK and he said he was grateful too lol. Prince Amukamara was also there and I told him “man why didn’t you come to Denver” and he said “Elway wasn’t about that money,” I thought that was pretty funny.

Hello fam! I am the most up and down person in Vance. I know a lot of other fans tend to be like that as well. I think the problem is is that I haven’t been able to put my finger on how I feel about him. I have finally figured it out, at least the way I view him.

Vance had a terrible season last year. He didn’t make the right coaching decisions, personnel decisions, press decisions, etc. at every turn, he was a terrible coach. There was NOTHING positive.

This offseason, he hired some good coaches, decent free agents and had an absolutely FANTASTIC draft. I don’t know if that is necessarily on him or not, but for fun, we can say it does. After the first half of the season, VJ got his team to fight hard and put together a little streak against tough teams which means that his players obviously believe in him. However, when it comes to the bad teams (I.e. jets and 49ers), they show up unprepared and flat which means that he doesn’t motivate well for those games.

Vance doesn’t make a lot of the same in game coaching decisions more than once which shows development in game management.

So, to summarize, Vance is improving. He has improved SIGNIFICANTLY as a head coach. However, the best adjective that I can come up with is inconsistent. Can a team and fanbase ever trust a guy who is inconsistent? I know I can’t. With that being said, depending on these last few games, I will not be upset if the broncos fire him, and I will not be upset if they hold onto him for one more season. That’s how I feel. I don’t hate him, and I definitely don’t love him. He is about as average as it gets, much like our QB situation.

Do you guys think that VJ was on to something when he was saying “we need to start faster?” Wondering this because maybe they don’t believe that Case can bring them back if they fall behind. I’m a firm believer of this now.

Hey guys it’s been a while… again!
Sorry but I need you to know I am always listening everyday. Lately I have just been busy with work and stuff for my own pod. Speaking of which, you two definitely need to come on again in the offseason.
But that’s not of importance now. I was really enjoying the turn our season took until the Bengals game when CHJ got injured. So my question is: How much do all the injuries (Oline, CHJ, Heuermann, Butt, Sanders) will count into the decision on keeping Vance?
I really think it should be over – you cannot keep a HC who has lost at least one game by himself.
As you mentioned on Monday this community makes even times like this pretty enjoyable. So you and all of you listening keep it up and all the best from Germany!!!
