How pretty would it be seeing Kyler Murray running out of the pocket on a pateneted Kubiak bootleg? Just doing a little fantasizing.
Go Denver and go BSN!

Hey guys, love the pod!
This is a possible scenario that may be beneficial in the long run. What if we, as you guys mentioned, moved back in the first round for some draft picks in 2020/2021. The we could grab some safer picks such as offensive and defensive linemen (and potentially corner depending on who’s left) this year. However we also grab a lower tier QB in the 5th or 6th rounds such as Gardner Minshew. The kid is a competitor and I believe he can make Keenum’s training camp a challenge. This COULD raise the level of Keenum’s game but likely Minshew would just become a backup. Then in 2020 or 2021, we draft Trevor Lawrence or Tua. This plan could strengthen our core positions while potentially putting a band-aid over our QB crisis without getting too invested in someone who may not pan out. What are your thoughts on this?

Well, you guys depressed the hell out of me on Tuesday’s podcast, but we are all back in it now and feeling more hopeful. I remember Fangio from his Stanford days. I love the mob boss/evil genius cachet. I’m in.
As I look back on this year, my biggest question is: how do we understand and explain the difference between what you guys saw of case Keenum in training camp and exhibition games, compared to the completely different (and much less accurate) quarterback we saw during the season.
Looking forward, my biggest question concerns Gary Kubiak and how creative and forward-thinking he and Klint can be offensively. Bill Walsh in the 70s and 80s; Mike Shanahan in the 90s; Sean McVay and Andy Reid (and Bieniemy) now – – we need creativity.
Final comment: I watched the Drew Locke highlight tape. I know it is easy to look good in that format, but, my goodness did he look good!
I appreciate any thoughts. Thank you as always for all of your good work, but do try to keep us from the ledge!

I’m just excited Denver will probably keep Jano!

Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins in the upcoming draft? I know Haskins is more Elways style, but like you said Ryan he never bothered to go check Haskins out. It makes me wonder. I love Murray’s athleticism but how long is that going to work before injury. Both are very intriguing and makes me more hopeful at a QB this year

The Wentz/Foles all over Denver media is driving me nuts. Nobody in their right mind would get rid of Wentz in favor of Foles, although there is only about a 4 year age difference between the two and QB’s are playing into their 40’s now. With Kubiak destined to be in charge of the offense I can’t help but think he’s going to try to make it work with Keenum or at most go out and get Flacco. So the offense gives me no real rush going into next season, especially knowing Lindsay has a long recovery ahead of him and will likely start the season very much underweight. So that brings us to the defense. I can just imagine Fangio foaming at the mouth dreaming of what he can do with Von and Chubb. He’s about to take the leading pass rush duo to another level this year. Maybe my wish for our own Roquan from a couple pods ago will come true with Fangio at the helm. Extend Harris Jr, sign Roby to a 1 year deal, and Yiadom has a year under his belt. With this pass rush I think the secondary will be fine for another year, not that I’m against drafting Greedy or Baker if they are there at 10. Perhaps they trade back and get a stud MLB and a DT or even Drew Lock. Who knows? The offseason is so exciting!

Hello Guys. Very quickly want to just say thanks for the wishes after my last comment on my daughter Neve being born. Very cool that people so far away are happy for you and saying congrats. Btw we had the name Neve already picked out it was just a spooky coincidence she arrived on NYE!
Just wanted to play a little devils advocate on the idea that the Big Vic hire is win now. I think he has looked at that D roster and talent on it and thinks he can win provided he gets decent offensive play. So I also HOPE Vic, Elway, Kubes etc know this is the year to get the QB. Get him in this draft and then try win with Case next year. Year after (insert QB name here) become the starter still with a top level D to help those growing pains. Could in theory see two 8-8/9-7 seasons before the anointed chosen one takes that second year leap. All conjuncture and hopes and dreams but dammit that’s all we have after these last two years! Anyway you see the above being the plan?
Thanks

Ok, you guys have convinced me to get on board with Fangio. I am intrigued to see what he can do for this Defense. I definately think Fangio makes us one of the most attractive spots for defensive freeagents, and that alone gives me hope. I also think it allows us to focus on offense in the draft, whether that means QB or Oline. All this is cause for me to become excited for this offseason, and ready to dive in to offseason coverage, lets go! And Go Broncos!

Hey guys new era in the broncos
Quick question for each of you
What will be your first question for Fangio?? What do you want yo know from Him
Keep the great job
Nacho Brad
What if we found some young defensive up and comer for D.C. that would be ok with not calling plays, and instead be willing to have a mentor that would groom him over the next few years? “Ware” would we find such a guy? 🙂
I know I know, just let a guy dream….
And shout out to burrito Chad, chinichanga Chris, hot pocket harry and the rest of the crowd – we ha e started a movement.
Last in relevance/first in your hearts… NB.

Love the Fangio Hire! I have a counter thought to you guys thinking Fangio goes Defense in Round 1 this year. Do you think it is possible Fangio sold the idea to Elway that our defense doesn’t need all that much adjusting personnel wise and it was actually a leadership (HC/DC philosophy issue)? Then lets Kubiak go free range on the QB of his choice in Round 1 with a focus on defense then in rounds 2-4? Love what you guys do! Best coverage in Denver and its not even close!
Wesley
Hey guys!
Great podcast, loved it. Just wanted to say – 1. If Kubiak was a shoe in you can bet money Elway talked to both Fangio and Munchak and got their approval (before hiring) to install Kubiak as their OC.
2. I sincerely disagree with the idea the Broncos “will draft a defensive player”. I think Kubiak is a very intelligent person who can see that Keenum is absolutely Not the future of this franchise, and they know they want to start winning in the future so Now is the Only time they can draft a QB, and I’m sure Kubiak knows exactly which QB’s he’d Like to develop behind Keenum.
Last years draft – there was a ton of uncertainty regarding Keenum and a sickening amount of optimism from the Broncos staff, but now no one is blind, and Keenums shine has worn off. $20 the Broncos draft a QB in the frirst round 😉

Hey guys love the podcast. So it came out that kliff kingsbury is in love with kyler Murray who just announced he is entering the draft . If for some reason Arizona does trade josh Rosen to draft Murray , what would you trade for Rosen. Would it be better to trade for Rosen or to trade up for Haskins? Also with Haskins and Murray in the draft where do you think you have to trade up to to get your guy?
Cosmo Kelly
Something tells me that our 60 year old defenseive head coach is not gonna be okay drafting kyler Murray. Isn’t that the whole problem is not adapting to new age football? I think that we’re not drafting a qb this year and instead gonna play Keemun again. “Barf”
But with kubiak calling the shots we might actually get him on some play action bootleg rolling out side the pocket. With that sweet combination we can totally win 7 game and draft in the mid teens next year. And just further send this team down the depths of disparity.

Hey guys,
Thank you for the AWESOME content this off-season. No one else stacks up to you guys. It makes struggling through the playoffs in Cowboys country bearable. Anyways, I went back and listened to the podcast about which players would be gone in 2019 and it got me thinking. Would that list change now that Vic Fangio has been named the head coach?
Also, if Kyler Murray declares for the NFL draft and the broncos are in position to draft either him or Drew Lock, will Elway pull the trigger on one of them, or someone else? Woody Paige came out a while back and said that Lock will get drafted by the broncos and we know that once Elway has his eyes set on something, he usually goes and gets it.
As always, thanks and gig ’em
Cosmo Kelly
Maybe this is more of a question for Andre but I think kyler is a lot like Russell Wilson. What do you guys see in that comparison?
Christian Ashley
Hey RK and Zac with the reports of the Cardinals picking Kyler Murray 1st overall. What do you think it will take to trade for Josh Rosen? I know you guys were high on him last year. Also do you think he still has what it takes to be a franchise QB?
Polish Filipino
Fellas, in case you need something else to discuss besides the new coach or the need for a better QB. Right now, who’s franchise is in a better position for success moving forward…the Raiders or the Broncos?
Loooooca
Just finished watching the press conference (btw our guy Zac coming in hot with the only “good question”).
What was your impression of Fangio?
I kinda felt like he was a bit shy but I can imagine him being in his element when he is talking to players. I also really liked the not dying by inches approach and I think this is exactly what this Team needs especially in terms of discipline.
The only thing that worries me a bit are his thoughts about the offensive development in the league and how to counter that with fundamentals. But he is the expert so who am I to judge.
Lets go and believe!
As always keep it up guys!

Just watched the Fangio presser and I’m super impressed. I recently watched Coach K’s series, “Earn Everything” and I see a lot of similarities between him and Fangio. For starters, K is all about team building and Fangio said, “Good teams have good players. But great teams have great teammates, and we will be obsessed with building that here.” They are both about fundamentals and both seem to love teaching. I can see both buying into the “death by inches” theory. Obviously, Coach K has done very well with these philosophies and I’m very optimistic about the Fangio era in Denver!
