What did Isaiah McKenzie do to Elway’s family? This dude probably holds the record for the most times being cut by the same team in one season.

Hey guys,
we all know vance joseph has under produced in the win column, but in his 2nd year where he had more control of the staff, weve seen large improvements in the young core. Would moving on from vance mean moving on from the new position coaches that have already shown their worth?

First off as someone who has been an Iowa Hawkeyes fan his entire life it’s refreshing to hear someone say Iowa football is anything but boring so you will always have a special place in my heart for what you said Ryan❤️

Now onto the main thing I have to say
FINALLY someone joins me on the hockenson hype train I’ve been saying it all year to anyone that will listen that hockenson is not only a legitimate pro prospect but his skill set is a better one than Fants

he’s the equivalent of a possession receiver on passing plays but with an offensive lineman’s mindset to be physical in the run game he’s the total package and mark my words he will be the best tight end out of this draft or whichever one he declares for and if it is this one since Fant has all the hype overshadowing him he will likely be available in the third

TLDR- Hockenson is the tight end Denver has been missing for years

With the cards releasing Sam Bradford do you think it’s wise for the Broncos to take a look at him? If the price is right and health is right.

Why? For what? He’s worse than Keenum and the only QB in the league less athletic than Eli Manning.

What is with Justin Simmons, I didn’t really think to bad of him after the previous games but big mistakes with losing Hop and the whiffing on a sack opportunity…should we be concerned?

November 5, 2018

Embarrassing. This team just continues to shoot itself in the foot with a lack of discipline. It’s unbelievable. Game on the line and here comes an automatic 15 yards in penalties right away. I know McManus has to make that kick, but still. Time to look forward to next year. There’s no way to vent enough, so I’ll just cut it off there. Have a good day.

BadOne Log #4:

Good teams try and get extra yards for their kicker when they have time on the clock. Good teams throw to sidelines to stop the clock. Good teams don’t get to a 50 yard field goal and let the clock run and call up a draw. It is time to cut bait with VJ. Third home game we should have won, we should be 6-3. Rant over I’m sure you guys would cover all this in the first segment.

A 2 pt. Game. 42 pass attempts to 20 rushes! I can’t even with the play calling and clock management today.

What should I drink to forget?

Keenum finally makes it through a game without a pick. Denver still loses the turnover battle. For once this season I don’t feel like Keenum was a liability. Too little, too late.

This team seems to find new ways to lose every week. There is always an excuse. This loss was on the decision making of the coaching staff. It would take some wild mental gymnastics to try and spin it any other way.

The season is officially over. Now they are playing for draft placement which they will inevitably muddle trying to get back to .500.

Yo guys!
Thanks for taking everyone’s long comments. You guys are still hilarious even when we lose! Keep up the good vibes!

We can all agree that Vance is not gonna win us playoff/championship football, which ironically actually gives me hope for the future. I would actually be scared to have VJ calling shots during a playoff/superbowl game. With that being said, I think I’m on board with trying to get the high picks for next years draft and move on from VJ.

Even without a turnover from Keenum, we were very inefficient in converting 3rd downs. Sometimes I think Billy gets too cute with some of his plays and it backfires tremendously.

Question:

Is Bill Musgraves on the hot seat to leave Denver first?

Man, this one hurts. The Texans did not win this game, the Broncos, more specifically Vance Joseph, lost it. Throughout the season I have defended VJ, but I can no longer after today. I am in awe at the poor time management decisions he made at the tail end of each half. Not only did Vance handle the clock poorly, he really put his players, specifically B Mac, in positions they should not have been in. Now that I’ve ranted a little, I have to say how impressed I was with Keenum. I can’t be the only one who saw a night and day difference. While he did fall into a sack or two, he evaded several rushes that would have been sacks, and made great plays out of them. What do you guys think?

Dudes, thanks a million for consistently putting out great content on these podcasts. I started listening during training camp 2017 (trees don’t grow in the shade) and have listened almost everyday since. Figured I’d jump on commenting to make the rest of the season a bit more interesting.

That was a tough loss today. Broncos actually played pretty darn well, but–as Ryan mentioned in his article–VJ botched it pretty good.

Here’s my question: what’s this teams finishing record now that we’re half way through the season? I almost want them to fire VJ now so we can tank with an interim head coach and maybe just work on accumulating some draft capital so we can grab Tua in 2020.

Hey guys. What a horrible loss, I have no words to explain my emotions. Oh wait I do. People can say they’re mad “fire VJ, fire everyone, it’s rebuild time” . But the one word that can sum this up is disappointment. To make it worse instead of doing what you guys say and go for Tua in 2 years(I have absolutely no clue how to spell his name and I’m to depressed to look it it up), we’ll probably end up drafting Will Greer (aka Will Grim) enroute to a era of mediocrity, Elway getting fired, the Bowlens loosing the team and the Broncos new owner moving them to London. Ok maybe I’m being a little negative. But since Ryan is the hopeless optimist here and we have Zac to ground us in the facts, it’s my job as a overly emotional overreacting Broncos fan with unreachable expectations to bear this message. But hey, at least we’re not worse then the Raiders. My questions are: 1. Is there anyway you can realistically see the Broncos passing on a QB for one more year of Case of another bridge QB? 2. How many more wins does VJ get as Broncos HC? 3. Does VJ get a second shot at HC in the NFL?

Thanks as always for you insights,
HammerJammerJr

Hey guys,
First time commenter here checking in from Denmark. First of all, I absolutety love the work you guys are doing. Keeps it fun during af season of frustrating play. A couple of things incoming – TL;DR at the bottom.
It’s gotta be time to let Vance Joseph go now, right? The guys on tv (CBS?) pointed out during halftime, that the Broncos are a solid team and actually seem to play hard. But this coaching staff seems to have no idea what situational football is.
First bad string of decisions to end the half. Then a(nother) bad challenge and to finish it off the lack of urgency on the final drive to get closer to win the game. It’s obvious, that this is something this coaching staff can’t seem to comprehend. I know there’s noone to take over as you say, but maybe this team just needs a breath of fresh air with a new coaching staff.

Also it was sad to see DT in a Texans jersey, but I couldn’t help but laugh when the Texans went to him early on a screen. It’s something DT is great at, but something we’ve seen almost nothing of during VJ’s time here in Denver and just another indictment on the lack of awareness from the coaches.

Anyway, last thing here – I’m flying in to LA after the bye. I’m traveling with a large group and don’t know my exact schedule but would love to meet up.

TL;DR:
The coaching staff needs to go, right? Lack of situational awareness is just the last indictment on them. Also loved DT’s long screen on the Texans’ first drive, since he was never used like that here under VJ.
Would love to meet up in LA.

Keep up the great work!
Cheers from Copenhagen

I didn’t get to watch the game for the first time this season. And I’m glad I didn’t. From the sideline comments from Bill O’Brien and a quote from DT after the games leads me to believe the Broncos are the laughing stock of the NFL.

Fight or Flight

Coming in at three and five
Looking to keep the season alive
Versus a team that had won five straight
And acquired our beloved eighty-eight

A model Bronco for over eight years
One with whom we shared laughs and cheers
Whose greatness as a player we cannot dispute
And for that D.T. earns our Mile High Salute

He had not lost a step and proved to be shifty
As he caught two passes for one shy of fifty
And though he would have only one more reception
His skill is undoubted, Bronco or Texan

The score was kept tight as the teams battled through
And in the fourth quarter, it was Texans by two
But the Broncos were given the chance to win it
Driving the ball in the final minute

Moving the sticks, giving hope to our town
Sanders and Heuerman completed fourth downs
The smiles of Houston fans did vanish
When on to the field marched our kicker McManus

Three seconds to go, a kick of fifty-one
Could this Broncos team get the job done?
The snap was off, the kick was away
Would the game end in glee or dismay?

And now I believe, and not without reason
That this week’s game has decided the season
A Broncos team that has lost the fight
As the call of the game was heard, “Wide right.”

Hey Zac and Ryan. By Cullin’ I was referring to culling, as the Broncos will have to cut a lot of players in order for John Elway to work his free agency magic and sign Nick Mullens to a record breaking, as much as the cap allows, contract. Broncos 2019 team will be Nick Mullens and everybody else on vet. minimum deals, you heard it here first.

P.S.
Tim, hit me up for that collab.

Hey fellas,

I bet that no one mentions clock management, am I right? Kidding. Us Aussies are a funny bunch.

It seems that VJ couldn’t organise a happy ending in a brothel but I’m gonna guess that you have that topic covered.

Where’s Ryan’s guy, Simmonds at?

Also, the weekly happy hot pocket take: How good is Chubb? I wanted Baker then Rosen and then Chubb. Yeah, he’s not a QB but can we please take a moment to be thankful for having Braddley.

This comment was presented by hot pockets… And bourbon and Diet Coke.

The combination of McManus and VJ delivered the knockout blow to the Broncos season. Poor coaching and management once again. I feel that the only reason this team has won 3 games is just by the pure talent on the roster. Coaching is holding this team back.

Anyway…. I’ve heard reports that John Harbaugh may be getting a pink slip in Baltimore. In my opinion that would be a huge mistake. However if it did happen what are your guys thoughts on Harbaugh being the next coach of the Denver Broncos. Also, I was wondering if you guys would comment on the overall attractiveness of the pending Broncos coaching opening. Would it be a highly coveted job or has Elway’s actions, and lack of QB diminished this position?

Thanks Guys

Just as Vance did i’d like to take responsibility for yesterdays loss. Game day I began by rocking my DT jersey over my Terrell #30. The 30 i’ve had on every quarter except 2nd quarter of the Ravens game. (Took it off so as not to get wing sauce on it) Broncos paid the price that time as well. Swapped Jerseys at half, while DT didnt contribute any more and lindsay did a lot better; he didn’t have enough snaps to overcome my mistake. Sorry Broncos Country. Its only weird if it doesn’t work lol. Maybe I needed a Mc-anus jersey. Thanks for letting everyone vent. Keep it up guys.

Guys hearing how Manning snuck to the opposing locker room to visit DT reminds me that if anyone can understand what DT is going thru with having been abandoned by his team, it’s Peyton. Class act all the way especially as he brought his kids to see DT in Texans jerseys. Listening to the post game interview with DT was a little like if we were seeing an ex talking about her new relationship after we broke up with her, after realizing what a mistake it was. It hurt. My question for you is, what is your thoughts on what DT said in the post game interview when he said, “They don’t point finger over here…” ? Obviously it speaks to the different cultures of winning vs losing, but do you suppose it was pointing to the coaches, players or fans… or all? I’m happy for DT that he had a nice game, that he’s on a winning team, etc… but it still sucks to have had to watch and hear all that. For now, I just hope the Broncos gets a great 4th round pick and sometime down the road at the end we sign him to a symbolic contract and retire him a Bronco like he deserves to be honored.

TLDR: Confirming Zac grew up under a rock, Ryan is scared of McChesney, does VJ get back into the favor of the fans for admitting he made poor calls?

1: Just breaking the tie on whether Zac grew up on a mountain or under a rock. It’s the rock. As a Longmont native, I grew up around the same mountains and I had a full childhood. Obviously Zac spent most of his time running 5ks and hiking the mountains to enjoy the good things. All love lol

2: Ryan, I also claim to have scheduling conflicts when I’m scared of my personal trainer. McChesney must just live unchained to spook you like that. Also all love.

3: Does VJ admitting he made poor calls in the Texans game relieve some of the fan’s issues? It seems like most of us have been upset that he didn’t seem to understand that he was making poor decisions. Just wondering since it doesn’t sound like there’s going to be a coaching change this season.

I feel terrible for Paradis. A stud going into a contract year. BUT as cold as it may sound, could this be good for the Broncos in the long run? We might be able to sign him at a lower price now that he’s coming off of injury. Broken bone shouldn’t affect him long term. I hate to think that way and I wish him a speedy recovery, but I’m trying to think long term Broncos success.
