Hey, guys love the pod! ???? you guys were talking the other day about whos available if the Broncos fired vj. It got me wondering why no one has said anything about jack del Rio. Hear me out lol. He got the Raiders to the playoffs he’s coached in Denver and coached some of our defensive players and is knows the Bronco organization. He is also very familiar with Musgrave and done well with him. He’s very familiar with the chiefs chargers and raiders
Not to mention I’m sure he has a chip on his shoulder to beat the raiders with Gruden lol. Just thinking who knows at this point maybe the gamblers just what we need?.

Is there any chance all this game manager, just don’t turn it over talk about our QB (and to an extent the offense as a whole) has created this perception of non-belief in our players to just go out and play football shccessfully? The offense gives off this stink that seems to say: “we are gonna do our best, but I’m not sure our best is very good. Maybe we should try not to screw up”. For years now we’ve been saying if we don’t turn it over we’ll be fine. Well we didn’t last game until the very last play. And we got our asses kicked. I doubt the Vikings were telling Case to be careful and not turn it over. They just went out and played ball and won games. Two concluding ideas on this. 1. Stop talking about being a game manager and taking care of the ball. These guys are pros. Let them play like they can perform at high level by just going for it. 2. Get some run with a QB that isn’t afraid to sling it and make mistakes. It’s not a recipe for winning a championship, but if it works, it may give this team a spark this offense hasn’t seen in years. I don’t know if that’s Kelly. Maybe it’s a FA vet. I don’t believe Ryan Fitzpatrick is a great QB. But earlier this year he was letting ride, and that offense had supreme confidence while he was on the field the first few weeks. We haven’t seen that for so long.

Oakland is trash.
Now THIS is something I think we can all agree on.

Ryan,
Before the season started I asked you a question about coaching concerns coming into the season. Your response boiled down to stating that the only metric for evaluating coaches was by their win/loss record. You also stated that we could revisit that question later into the season. Well, here we are going into week 6. The team is 2-3 coming off of one of their worst performances in the VJ era.
To put some perspective on this VJ has been the head coach for 21 games since last season. The team has 7 wins out of those 21 games. Out of those 7 wins only 2 can be considered convincing wins and both of those came at the beginning of last season. Since then the Broncos have endured multiple losing streaks, complete failure to execute on both sides of the ball in multiple games, and overall seems to lack an identity. The players are now openly voicing their frustrations to the media. The fans are blowing up social media posts with calls for VJ to be replaced which have been ongoing since last season.
At this point, only the most wilfully blind homer fan could claim that coaching is not the problem with this team. It’s one thing if a couple of players miss an assignment during a game. When the vast majority of the team on both sides of the ball miss assignments repeatedly during a game that is on the play callers. When a head coach is asking the players what they can do to be better at their job that is a failure in leadership. Let’s be real here. The players should be looking for guidance from the coaching staff. Not the other way around. When you find yourself at such a loss as to need to ask what you can do better from the people who are following your leadership you have failed at your job. That stands true in any profession.
All we can do now is wait and see how this Rams game plays out. Even in the off chance Denver somehow finds a way to win I don’t think their problems are going to magically disappear. One win isn’t going to silence critics or lead to a complete cultural shift in the team. The only real question is this. What has to happen now for the front office to finally step in and put an end to this charade?

Hey Ryan and Zac,
With a rough part of the schedule coming up, Rams, Short week Cardinals, then Arrowhead against the Chiefs, a rationale minded person would tell you the Broncos will be 2-6 in the blink of an eye. With that in mind you cant help but think of the “R” word….. Rebuild. It is sad that we have to start thinking about the draft so early in the season. Andre’s draft pod ratings will be on rise. Let me lay out a scenario that I think could get the Broncos turned around sooner rather than later. First, fire Joseph…. obviously, then hire John DeFilipo the up and coming offensive minded coordinator for the Vikings. Let him, NOT ELWAY, hand pick his next QB in the draft. There is no doubt the Broncos will be picking high. Then let Elway fill out the rest of the class with hard working leaders like he did this year. Hire an older hard-nosed D-coordinator to get that attitude back on Defense. Lastly, give DeFilipo the keys to the offense and hopefully with Sutton, Lindsay, Royce, and Hamilton they will be young and explosive. Let me know what you guys think.
Lastly, if we get something arranged where we can meet up before the Cardinals game I would like to thank you in person for the amazing coverage!
Keep up the good work!

Starting Sunday the next 100 or so hours could be a turning point for the Broncos and fans. Best case scenerio Broncos “changes” help them get things turned around, they shock Rams, beat Cards and then have a mini break before getting the Chiefs again with some good vibes going into game. The other way is they lose to Rams, lose to Cards and at that point Elway knows Vance/Case arent the guys, with mini break could be the time that one or both are replaced and Broncos front office knows its to do the REBUILD that is necessary. If you take the 30,000 ft view of these outcomes it could be good either way for Broncos and Fans. think we might now how this going to go by end of first quarter on Sunday. if Rams come out and go up and down the field vs Broncos D and we get bad assignment football with missed tackles and there are no “visible changes/benchings” by Vance, then we know which outcome we are headed to and we just need to get prepared for 2019. AS a lifelong Broncos fan (and new BSN member) I am ok with the rebuild process as long as we start it and you can begin to see light at end of tunnel. This being stuck on the treadmill of mediocrity is not good for orginazation or fans. At least we know the next 4 days starting Sunday can be enjoyable if you look at it through the big picture lens.
Keep up the good work guys, hope to meet up with BSN crew when I am in town for Texans game
