What’s with the schadenfreude epidemic in Broncos country?! Wanting your coach to be sacked only 4 weeks onto the season is poor form, no matter how you put it. I’d much rather the coaching staff continue to learn from their mistakes and improve. Yes, there’s plenty of reasons to be concerned but can we have a weekly segment that focuses on something positive even after a loss? Being negative doesn’t make you the most passionate supporter
Bronco Jimmy
After 4 weeks it looks like the Broncos have 3 of the top 15 rookies with Chubb, Freeman and Lindsay. Sutton is close to a breakout and Butt was starting to fire.
Who are some other names that still look to see improvement from? Where’s Sua at?
Thanks for the quality content, you have no idea how much we appreciate it, particularly for those of us who aren’t Denver locals but still feel part of the family. Much love to you both,to the BSN team and subscribers.

Hey all, this may be a question for Andre, but I’ll ask it here. I was going through the DPR grades for our players (which is reason enough to subscribe, by the way), and noticed some oddities. For instance, Keenum has nearly an identical DPR as Freeman, and Sutton is significantly lower. I know each position is graded individually, but the eye test tells me that each of the two latter players have performed significantly better than Keenum. And each of the linemen outside of Bolles have DPR grades of 70+, but are graded by BSN in the “C” range. Just wondering if we could get some clarification on all that. I find it hard to understand Keenum and Freeman receiving the same grade when one is playing at a top 5 level at his position, and the other is bottom 3. Thanks!

Glad I checked in on your “theoretical” discussion of a Vonn Miller trade. The time to do it was after the 2016 (13 1/2 sack) season. (The full Belichick).
Sorry to see it but he’s no longer THE VONSTER, but still a very good player. Ryan, your suggestion that he could bring three first rounders gave me a chuckle. One first and a second or third would be the top of the market now, I would guess. The league now knows how to play him and minimize his impact. His motor seems to have lost a few RPMs and sucking on oxygen and inhalers on the hometown bench against KC was not a good look.
I’m glad we got to see his glory years. I don’t think the Broncos can afford that contract as they search for a real live franchise QB, unless, as you postulated, they get lucky on a draft pick. But really how likely is that? It would take a cellar dweller type season and possibly a different GM to get that accomplished. I’m just afraid the this franchise is too attached to its past to get it done. (See “The Kubiak Years” vols. I, I and III)
Thanks for all you do, ‘cause it’s great!!!
Well guess it’s time to check out,

Yo Zac & Ryan!
Ryan, thanks for the Shout out on the pod! It was great to get to meet you and the other BSN folks at the Avs watch Party! My name is Alex by the way. No worries on the name front, I too forget everyone’s name and Its extra bad on me because I’m a teacher with 150 different students a day!….. I Love getting all the Colorado sports love from BSN and they are now the only pods I listen to. Got to love being a Denver sports fan if one or two of the teams is pissing you off at least there is hopefully one to step in and pick you up like the avalanche did Thursday night! For what its worth, (nothing) I feel like this Jets Broncos game will be a #14 Sutton Showcase as a compliment to a killer rush game. Lets hope for the best Sunday and remember although frustrating at times on Sunday there is still a lot of football left in 2018-19! Go Broncos, Av’s, & and Rock’s this weekend!
Much love – Alex

Great to meet you!

This performance was absolutely awful. Thankfully I was unable to watch the game due to being in the Southeast region in MS. I was able to simply be disappointed by watching the play by play on my phone and missed what appears to be a bunch of poor play calling, missed assignments, and sloppy play. Don’t know what all went down since I couldn’t watch it, but at the moment we’re down 34-10 in the 4th to the JETS! I don’t know who yet but heads will roll Monday morning mark my words. Please break this down for me guys WTH happened????

Ridiculous how a bolles holding pentathlon can totally change the game.
The Broncos had all the momentum till he tackled another pass rusher.
3 and Outstanding
At this point, I’m not sure which is longer. The list of apologist excuses for the poor coaching, or the amount of time Keenum holds the ball before his complete lack of awareness gets him sacked.
Maybe I can try and spin this and find some positives. We held them to only 323 yards rushing. Wait, that didn’t work. Let’s try this again.
Denver had the lead for about 5 minutes in the first quarter. That’s positive, isn’t it? Yeah, I’ve got nothing.
According to VJ, “We need to get Freeman more touches.” He had 5 on the game. They completely abandoned the run until it no longer mattered. The rookies had less than 20 touches between them. That’s the exact opposite of what VJ claimed they were going to correct.
Maybe we should put VJ in the backfield. He seems to be good at running. Running away from the gameplan at the first sign of trouble that is.

Hey gents… that was a tough one to watch. I kinda feel like my dad did after I mistakenly did something stupid… not mad, just disappointed.
So here’s the question: what do we do to fix the ailing pass rush? Von has sort of disappeared the last couple weeks and Chubb just seemingly isn’t quite hitting his stride. I know we’re five games in, but it seems like the pass rush is just MIA for the last year and a half…
Thanks for all the content and looking forward to having a great forum like this to work through what looks to be a rough season.
I have to agree with Broncos Jimmy on sticking with the positives. However, I’m beginning to jump on the “new coaching” train. Denver is going on a season and a half of this and Vance doesn’t seem to be getting it. Even with all the assistant coaching changes, VJ has remained the constant, and so has the performance of the team. The same decisions are being made, the same players (cough cough Garrett Bolles) are being left in to screw up, and the same excuses are being given at press conferences.
Now for some positives: Case looked MUCH better. Despite being sacked a thousand times, he made the throws and got the touchdowns. The run game is still very good and they just need more opportunities to shine.
Thanks for keeping our heads on straight throw these past few weeks. And, by the way, both the articles from after the game were great. Keep it up!
GO BRONCOS!

Cheers GunGun, there’s nothing wrong with balanced and constructive observations.
Well……………….at least we had a good week of practice! I just don’t even know what to say anymore, so I’m not going to rant, just going to ask a question. If there’s one change you think needs to be made (if any), what do you think that move should be? Thanks guys!

Do you guys think it’s time to start looking at a replacement for John Elway?
He did great in convincing Peyton to join us, but other than that, he didn’t really do much. The guys who came here to win, did it because Peyton was here, and for that, all credit should go to Elway, sure. We drafter Von Miller, who’s an awesome player, true. But his drafts have most been underwhelming, his teams as well and most of his choices, both of personnel and of coaching are questionable, at best.
Bronco Jimmy
There comes a time where it’s better to just log off. If we replaced Elway this weekend it would be time to move the franchise,we just wouldn’t deserve to have a team if we did that.

Well, 2-3…that was so hard to watch…I could not believe what I was watching today. They made Crowell look like the best RB in football, it looked like people forgot how to tackle and the coverage was just geared to stopping short to intermediate throws and not respecting Darnold’s deep ball. What happened to disguising coverages and bringing exotic blitzes like they did with KC? What do they need to change on the defense?
The offense… was meh…don’t know how to describe it. Running game was up and down, Keenum played okay. I still can’t believe down 17 they didn’t just kick a field goal and be down by 14 and put a little more pressure on the Jets. What has to change on the offense?
I want to believe that this is the one terrible game in a season that teams usually have and that Denver can bounce back. I still think that 9-7 is still a possibility and that could mean wildcard, since a lot of other teams have similar records, outside of the Rams and Chiefs.
Andreas3000
Gotta laugh at Vance’s constant we need to be better, they need to play better quotes. Surely that’s the kind of thing a ten year old says. What do you reckon he says to the players “Ok Garret about all those holds what you need to do is just play better” “Case about all those picks, next time just play better”
Sorry Vance sadly I don’t think your going to get ‘better’
So question. If at the end of the year it’s a new coaching staff and a clear out of old players how many season’s could it be before the Broncos are real competitors again?
I have faith this rookie class can be a big building block going forward but what else will it need? A similar draft class or lots of big free agents?

Hey Ryan and Zac,
I’m sure there’s a lot of disappointment and negativity in Broncos country following the a**-kicking we received yesterday. Do you guys think such a loss could lead to any substantive changes at either the management or personal side? Hard to imagine them just brushing it off without any notable actions taken, especially given that the beatdown came at the hands of the Jets.
Also, regarding our D, what immediate changes can be made so we don’t get rebranded as the “Fly By Zone”? Seriously. We. got. destroyed. Please cheer us up now! 🙂
Best,
B Money

We definitely saw some changes in the run defense with Gotsis and Davis out….
After such high praise during the offseason……what is happening to this team….
What happened to all the FA this year? McDonald is already gone, King is more than likely gone soon according to reports, Brock is not showing us anything to keep him another year, and Cravens hasn’t played! Keenum is not showing us he is THE GUY.
A small break for OC Musgrave for the passing off his father. My mind wouldn’t be all there either.
Unlike Gunner, I am all in on the coaching change not just getting there. Run the DANG ball!
There are positives. We have a great Rookie class!!
Frustrating…….but I will always bleed Orange and Blue!

GO BORNCOS!!!

Gotsis was in….my bad!!! I would edit that if I could!!!

So was Davis. Just a bad start to a comment…..

I’ll keep this brief. Broncos offense is anemic. I was a huge Keenum apologist from the day we signed him, but it’s starting to fade. He holds onto the ball way too long and hasn’t showed the same pocket awareness that he had with MN. Also, just like last year, you can see the defense giving up on the offense. Losing that game to the J E T S was simply an embarrassment, and shows this team has a long way to go before they’re relevant again. Also Roby was absolutely awful. This no fly zone turned into a Southwest “wanna get away?” commercial.

Ryan, Zac,
I need you to talk me down off the ledge. What positives can we take out of this recurring nightmare?
If the Broncos get pummelled by the Rams (Highly likely on current form), surely VJ will be on the hot seat then?
Thank you for the therapy you are providing for us Bronco Fans.
