First food, then football:

Zach, I recently moved to a small town in New Mexico. Here, there are a couple of restaurants that make tacos in a way that are, coincidentally, keto friendly. Cheese shell tacos. Take a pile of shredded cheese and broil it into a plate shape. When it starts to brown at the edges, fold them over a spoon to shape and drain. It works great with cheddar and all Jack cheeses. Warning, There’s no going back to normal corn tacos.

Moving on, there’s a glaring hole that you guys have mentioned, but I don’t know if you’ve addressed in depth: center. In you opinions, how would you like to see the broncos to replace Matt Paradis. You mentioned using a third round pick in this draft. Connor McGovern, though merely improvising, did a decent job covering the position, and an off-season of Mike Munchak converting him to that position permanently could work. In all of the moves that the broncos have made, and the talk about it, center seems to be like an elephant in the room. What would you like to see happen to address this? Again, sorry if you already have and I just missed it

Phillip fanatics… duh!

I like your take on the drafting of a QB? I don’t want to be a team like the Bengals, Titans, or Buccaneers with their QB situations. All of the qb’s for those teams are question marks.

Hey dudes, will David Williams be invited to training camp next year? He is the Broncos 7th rounder from last year Incase you forgot. Would you guys be mad if the Broncos drafted a linebacker somewhere in the draft, and then used the rest of the picks on offense?

Accroding to Oxford dictionary a hole is ” a hollow place in a solid body or surface”. So technically a straw has one hollow place but two entrances to that hollow place. So how many holes does a t-shirt have? Technically one with 4 entrances, right? I think it’s all about perspective. How many holes does the Broncos offense have? If you look at the macro, the offense is one big hole. If you look at the micro, there’s at least 4 or 5 holes.

BLUF-positional value is overrated, we don’t have any holes at the value positions in the eyes of elway, we don’t have playing time available on the D-line this year with how Vic works his starters there(you’re not going to sit Shelby Harris or gotsis in contract years and Wolfe is getting paid too much for anything less than a full time role), there is so much invested in the defense it’s time to use lower end assets to either trade for guys like darron Lee or draft guys that can be molded into Vic’s needs and finally you’re looking at the tight end position through the eyes of the modern NFL when everything that elway has said and done has pointed towards a throwback offense so you have to also look at positional value through that same lense and when you do tight end is much higher especially a guy that can be a quality reciever and blocker on day one like hockenson which is extremely rare in players coming out of college

About the possibility of Hockenson, positional value and the Broncos needs/holes. Positional value is overrated (excluding QB) if you’re getting a pro bowl player I don’t care what position it’s not a bad pick, do you think the colts are complaining about Quenton Nelson and his positions value after what he did for them?

And what drastic holes do the broncos have at “high value positions”? edge rusher is filled, QB is filled, CB is filled, OT is filled, the only “vital” position that isn’t filled is inside linebacker where the same arguments against Hockenson come into play “elway has never drafted one that high, it’s not required to have a great defense/offense and etc” except with linebacker we have a coach with the ability to bring the most out of talent at that specific position and that coupled with how many resources have been thrown at the defense I say you trade for darron Lee (preferably 2020 draft capital so you can take full advantage of this year) and draft a guy Vic thinks he can groom into a legitimate starter in the third or later and then invest your most valuable resources in the offense

Also even with the remaining positions there either isn’t a player worth taking at 10 or there isn’t a whole lot of space for year one playing time

For example fangios D’s typically have the D-line starters playing the vast majority of snaps and it doesn’t seem likely you’d sit Wolfe who you’re paying a ton or gotsis and Shelby Harris when they’re in contract years
There isn’t a safety worth the 10th selection, they typically have a longer transition period to the NFL and you have adequate starters at the very least
There isn’t an interior offensive lineman worth the 10th selection although if they trade down I wouldn’t complain about bolstering this position

aaaaaand then there’s tight end, doesn’t have a clear starter, injury prone players, even with proper coaching lacks talent to ever turn into something adequate and Is vital in a throwback offense like the broncos are trying to run

Another comment unrelated to hockenson

A fun idea on offense would be to have Freeman and Lindsay on the field and running no huddle, you could alternate between Lindsay being flexed out into the slot and at his true position and while Lindsay is in the backfield freeman could play fullback since he is almost the size of the average fullback and with some training I’m sure could be used as one in this set…this formation could be a way to put defensive coordinators in a crunch since they can’t switch personnel and hunt matchups for your weapons

Hey guys. This may be a tedious topic but I’ve never really heard it discussed – what do you think about the length of the NFL season? The football (soccer) season ends and restarts again before the NFL season does. Soccer fills the void but I wish there was a way to fill the summer months with some American football. Would you like to see some sort of cup competition, or is the long break due to competition from NBA/MLB?

1) A jar or cup is one hole with one opening. A straw is one hole with two openings.
2) That’s all I got. I can’t believe I’m able to find an hour of content every day this time of off-season. This will definitely be the first year I see Denver’s early picks and don’t go “Bradley who?” Keep it up!

No football…just education……

According to the Merrian-Webster dictionary:
Hole: (notice no ‘s’ for plural)
noun: 1a : an opening through something
2a: a hollowed-out place
verb: 1 : to make an opening through OR a hollowed-out place in

So reading this, I see that there is ONE hole in a straw as it is an “opening through something”

Hey guys! Much like all of us I’ve been all over the place with draft preference thus far but let’s say we get Haskins or Lock and they blow the coaching staff away, what do you think Flacco’s trade value (if there is one) would be either at the end of training camp or off-season next year? Could the broncos recoupe a pick or is it simply a cut scenario?

Also would love the see Jano get more touches and playing time in general. I really think he has much more to offer than they have given him a chance to prove thus far.

Thanks and keep it up.

Have you guys seen Ridiculous 6 (very funny movie but very dumb also)? If we get Devin White we have to call him White Knife. If you’ve seen it you’ll understand.
Now to football, what do you guys think the plan is at interior D-line?

Hi guys,

First things first, what is going on with the water tasting competition, at this point the Alaskan water has to taste like puddle water, it has been too long! that is a little bias for Colorado Water.

Regarding the “win now” situation, it is going to be really tough with this team to acomplish this. With this schedule and with the competition on the wild west I just don´t see it happening. If you have the opportunity of getting your QB I would go for it, no hesitation.

Also heard about the Bronco´s draft pick announcers? Al Wilson and Karl Mecklenburg, is this an omen that interior linebacker is the first pick??? Thoughts?

Much love …. still (I really don´t want Peko to go)

I’ve been hearing people comparing Haskins to Bledsoe what do you both think of this? Part of me wants a QB at ten if its one of the big three but if not I think what worked so well last year was just drafting BPA so doing that again would only continue to solidify our team. You guys talked about that the only thing drawing FA’s here is Vic getting a young QB would completely change that and we will have a decent chunk of change to spend next year.

Hey guys,

Quick question… What’s the average age and stats of a Broncos super bowl winning starting QB?

Has John Elway taken this into account when trying to sculpt a team ?

Look at the teams with monster QB contracts that have “their guy”. The Packers and Colts have struggled to get teams around their QBs.

We’ve won in the past with sub par QB play all I’m saying is maybe we shouldn’t look to the draft for a an but keep on this sloppy seconds QB super bowl runs.

If the Raiders draft a QB I would be all in on Derek Carr for our QB after Flacco.

Keep the good work guys.

Zac… Friend, buddy, pal.. DO NOT EAT A HOT POCKET!!! EVER…

They are GROSS-ly overrated and do not taste good at all.

Now on to a football rant… I cannot stand John Elway. Never have. The man needs to pay Harris, and i understand waiting for the draft to be over to figure out finances. I just have a feeling Elway is going to screw this up like he has done with so many other things in his tenure. He seemingly cannot get out of his own ego filled way. Having a man who is “untouchable” in power is a bad thing for any business.

there is your Hot Pocket hot take of the week…..
