The war of E and AB. I guess we can put the Denver/AB marriage rumors to rest, huh? That’s honestly probably for the best though.

My question is what do you think our offense will look like next year? I know Scangarello worked with Jimmy G and Mullens, but I haven’t actually done the research to see what his scheming looks like. I guess I’m just worried that it’ll be average for the 4th year in a row (with the exception of Lindsay).

BadOne Log 21:

Hey guys! Seems like our staff is coming together now (still waiting on the official work on Rich Scangarello). Who do you think Rich’s QB coach will be?

Anyways guys Broncos Country on twitter all week has been saying “Trade for AB, Trade for AB” and I am over here thinking we should go and trade for guys like Patrick Peterson (save him from a rebuild) and Gerald McCoy (rumored to be cut). Also free agency is looking real nice for the positions that we need! Kwon Alexander, Kareem Jackson, Foster, Jesse James, Calahan, Aaron Lynch, Landon Colins. I mean there are some game changers that can help us step up right away.

My bold prediction for the 2019 draft… Broncos grab a QB in the first AND trade Case to the Cardinals to help Rosen learn the Kingsbury offense, thoughts?

BLUF: ELway is a baller.

So my BLUF has no relevance to my comment but here’s my dream offense for this year:
QB- Lock
RB- Use Freeman and Lindsay basically the same way the Saints use Ingram&Kamara
FB (if we keep one): Jano
WR: essentially the same as last year plus AB
OL (L-R): Bolles, Leary, McGovern, Deiter(Wisconsin), Veldheer
TE: Butt& Heuerman combo

Thoughts?

Well that was that on thinking having No 10 and No 84 as our wide receivers, not going to happen, but I still think we should try getting Larry Fitzgerald on free agency!!
Love all the offseason hype! Keep the good work

These questions came across my mind as draft pod questions, but if you guys want to talk about the draft as well, the more the merrier! How would you rank the Broncos three biggest needs that should be addressed draft? And do you realistically think we could or would add any free agents that would allow one of those needs to be less of a priority?

I know we’ve touched on this a lot, but who to cheer for of the remaining 4 is obvious. My superstitious voodoo will be behind the Saints, for the sole reason thay I hate Kroenke. I love in Missouri, and while I’m not one of those people whining that he moved the team, I will say he’s a grade-A d-bag. I know he owns half of Colorado so maybe you Colorado friends can relate.

Hey dudes,

Should I pump the breaks on my Tim Patrick excitement? Bring me back to reality…

Ps. I’m all in on Mile High Mob. Instant classic. The Mexican food boys may need to switch to Italian after all these hires.

The Godfather is one of my Top 5 favorite movies and now my favorite sports franchise is being ran by The Mafia! I love it. Mile High Mafia.

On another note, I’m really excited for free agency this year seeing all the Cap room we have. I think if we could snag Kwon Alexander and Landon Collins and even get Ronald Darby on a nice discount deal after his injury this year then we would be set. Then we trade up and get Haskins with a Top 5 pick. And the rest of the draft picks can be used on OL and have Munchak train them up like he does!

What do you guys think?!

Hey y’all, new commenter. Been listening since before the Zac Era (darker times) but haven’t felt inclined to comment till now. Bear with me on this long post.

In regards to the Patriots-Chiefs debate one scenario that I haven’t heard discussed is the dismantling of the Patriots dynasty by way of a 6th SuperBowl win. I can easily see a scenario where the Patriots win and Brady, Gronk, Edleman, and Belichick all decide to slide that sixth ring on their left middle finger and walk out the door. Yes it’s a win for the Patriots but it’s a Win Win Win for Broncos fans. Chiefs lose at home – Win. Broncos retain bragging rights – Win. Patriots dynasty falls – WIN.

As purely a football fan of course I’d love to see Mahomes in the Super Bowl, he’s simply electric. HOT POCKET TAKE: I believe if the Chiefs make it to the Superbowl there’s a good chance we get one of the all time great plays in Superbowl history; a behind the back (touchdown) pass! Reports are this is one of the many passes Mahomes practices to test the boundaries of his throwing limits.

As a Broncos fan I am in total agreement with Zac and RK. WE DO NOT WANT THIS! I’m origanilly from NM but went to college in Boston (now in Seattle KMS). Trust me, I fully understand the Patriots fatigue…I lived through the ‘Free Brady’-‘Deflatgate’ Era for crying out loud. Additionally RK is right, a SB win doesn’t mean much to Patriots fans anymore, it’s really no big deal. To the Chiefs it’s EVERYTHING! Let me put it this way – what’s worse than a Patriots Fan? Answer: Being a Jets, Dolphins, and Bills fan. The last 17 years have been the most demoralizing and wretched years for that devison. We don’t want to become this!

Lastly none of this maters, cosmically it’s out of our hands. The Patriots dynasty started with their first SB under Tom against the Rams in 2002. It will come full circle. ?‍♂️F*** I just realized 2020 is more fitting FML.

Hey Andre and Zac, reading an article of the top free agents to be in 2019 there were many inside lb like cj mosley, kj wright or anthony bar. Do any of them fit fangios defence and do you think elway would spend the money it would take to get them?

I love your offseason coverage, from the senior bowl to the draft, nobody beter!!

Since Andre is going to be on this pod I have a feeling you guys might do a bit more draft talk than normal. Ryan’s comments about Lock made me go watch some highlights from Lock’s 2018 season. Although they were just the highlights I liked what I saw. Lock seems to effortlessly launch the ball deep and looks as though he actually goes through his progressions, something we haven’t seen in Denver since Manning. Also do you guys notice the movement on the ball when he throws it? The nose of the ball seems to point up and kind of floats to the target, almost like a boat skimming on water. Do you see that as a potential problem in the NFL with so many defensive ball hawks out there? Is this movement from his somewhat side-armed delivery and getting under the ball too much? If Elway wants him though I don’t think he can wait for him at 10 and needs to go up to at least 5 and get him. Also, how do Lock and Haskins stack up against each other? From what I’ve seen Haskins just doesn’t quite have “that” arm and labors a bit in his deep balls where Lock just flicks it. Who is your dream 1st round pick for the Broncos this year?

It’s impossible now to have E and Brown, after all this fight on Twitter. So gimme AB. I hate Big Ben, so I’ll always lean on giving whomever fights with him a break. Besides, E is also a diva. Diva per diva, I prefer the best one.

Anyways, I love the diversity in our coaching staff and I just wish the new coaches decide on a rookie QB and start him, instead of having us go through another QB controversy.

With Ryan not there to defend himself, I would like to hear one thing from each of you about Ryan, that the BSN family doesn’t know but should! He’s always getting on Zac for things like not watching tv shows, so now is you’re chance to get him back!!
Be warned though, this question may come back when one of you two are not on the pod!!

Don’t get me wrong here I’d love to see AB in Broncos’ Orange & Blue and he’d really strengthen this offense. With that being said I just don’t see AB making it work. Hes at the point in his career where I doubt he’s willing to go thru the growing pains of grooming a rookie. AB is too egotistical and would be a complete nightmare by mid-season should it not go his way. Much love to you guys for keeping me sane having to live and listen to the annoying Chiefs fans as we progress through this nightmare playoff scenerio! UGH! GO NFC!!!

Ryan, the place with turtle races is called Brennan’s in LA! You’re right, amazing food and atmosphere for Broncos games. I recommend to anyone visiting out here or living out here. While there are fans of every team here in SoCal, the Broncos have as many as anyone along with the Steelers and Pats. No surprise these franchises are arguably the most historically successful franchises. My dad was born and raised in the Fairplay CO area before moving to SoCal for the military. Thus, I was a dubbed a Broncos fan upon birth. I agree with Burrito Chad, may be time to put an Italian spin on our usernames!
One question, when and how is the team filmed in Hard Knocks chosen? I know you have to have sucked the previous season, but don’t know details. Would love to see this new coaching staff up close with our guys

Great pod guys! Was curious who your top priority free agent that isn’t on this team already is for the offseason? Landon Collins? CJ Mosley? A lineman? If you were John Elway where would you be targeting hard in free agency so you can ignore it during the draft to help secure you the opportunity to go after a QB in the draft. Thanks guys!

What can DaeSean and Courtland do this offseason they weren’t already doing to improve? Lets face it, if they can’t get open against press coverage with a single high safety and 8 in the box it won’t matter who our coach or QB is next season.

Hey Ya’ll, Listening to yesterdays pod and hearing that we will possibly be moving on from veteran names on the D-line like Peko and Wolfe kinda has me worried for what it will look like next season. I think that when we have two premier players at the OLB position we take for granted that its the play of the D-line that allows those two to wreak havoc on QB’s and ball carriers. D-line has been a strength of this defense since we signed Peko and Harris and Kerr two years ago. I’d hate to see the line take a step back because we felt we could let some of those guys go. Personally I think Peko is one of the most underrated players on our team and perhaps in the NFL, the guy is a monster and plays with such a high motor every play even at his advanced age…I think we should at least consider resigning him.

Alternatively this is a very rich draft for D-line so we could find some depth at the position in day two and three of the draft.

GO NFC!!!! Cheers

Hey, long time listener, first time commenter. I’m still very caught up on the Chiefs vs Pats thing. First of all, why are we ‘rooting for’ either one? We already lost all hope on the AFC side when the Colts lost; it’s like choosing between Trump and Clinton. But I will definitely suffer less from the Chiefs in the Super Bowl than the Pats. I hope my opinion counts even though I’m a Boston listener. But as sweet as it was holding in my ecstasy after the Pats lost the Super Bowl last year, we need to accelerate the end to the fake humility over here. I have to deal with Brady’s pity party from “everyone thinking we suck and can’t win any games” after they get a lowly 2-seed en route to their 8th-consecutive AFC Championship Game. When I moved to Boston 4 years ago, the Patriots WERE the Broncos’ rival, and I got dirty looks and insults for wearing Broncos gear around. Well the only thing worse than being hated is being ignored, and now, the Patriots are so much better than everyone, especially Denver, that they just don’t care. I don’t see Mahomes being the next Tom Brady where if he goes to the Super Bowl this year, he’s going to be going to 12 in the next 10 years; I see him more as a Russell Wilson or Cam Newton who may go to one or two, maybe, but otherwise will just never be able to beat Fangio’s defensive powerhouse. Eh.
Anyway, I’m sure I’m about to suffer through another Patriots Super Bowl, but hopefully it’s a repeat of last year where with a minute left, I realize they actually may lose, then I get to feel pure pleasure while all of my in-laws openly cry because they think NE winning matters.
