I know it’s still early in the season, but if Case continues his very sub-par play tomorrow, do you think the talks of Kelly heat up? Do you think they should? Thanks for your coverage!

My next question is for Andre and the draft podcast. With seeing guys from smaller colleges go higher in the draft like Davenport, do you see any prospects that could potentially be drafted or may have succes in the nfl? Also a little bit of bias view but anyone from James Madison university that may have a shot in the nfl?

Zac, I have a question of football rules. On Phillip Lindsay’s first TD, the Chiefs were offsides (Broncos declined). If for some reason the TD was reversed, would the Broncos be allowed to accept it? Thanks!

That was the worst coaching I’ve ever seen. Joe Woods lost us that game. Man to man on a 2nd and 30?!?! Are you kidding?? Just awful. And Keenum played horribly again. Multiple bad misses. Absolutely embarrassing. No question from me today, just a rant. We need to hand out firings TOMORROW. That is all.

One word. Frustrated…. I’m so tired of us losing games we should have won. There were multiple things in the game that made me angry, the missed delay of game call by the refs on KC’s final drive, bad scheme of man to man on freaking 2nd and THIRTY, but the one that hurt the worst…. another overthrow by Case Keemun that would have given Denver the go ahead touchdown and probably sealed the game. I’m not calling for his job yet, but this is not the play that Denver paid him to come over here with. 3 TD to 5 Int. It’s not good enough. Rant over.It was a very disappointing loss but I’m still hopeful for this team they showed a lot of fight and grit but just came a little short. The running Game was very solid, the defense played very well in the first half and shut Mahomes down, Case showed the late game clutch he’s known for but missed the all important throw. This team is better than last year guys. DONT GIVE UP ON THEM YET! GO BRONCOS!!

Also, I feel like Von Miller needs to step up at some point in those last couple of drives. I’m not going to say it’s his fault, but he lives for moments like that. We needed him there. If I comment a couple more times, I apologize. I will not be able to sleep tonight.

Keenum vs Chiefs: 21/33, 245, 0:1
Keenum vs Ravens: 22/34, 192, 0:1
Keenum vs Raiders: 19/35,222, 0:1
Keenum vs Seahawks: 25/39,329, 3:3

I know last week I was reserving calling for Keenum’s benching, but I’m rethinking. Embarrassing performances in all 4 games, and last minute wins vs two bottom half teams. Maybe Kelly isn’t “ready,” but if we’re going to lose (or scrape out a harrowing win) off the back of underperforming QB play, I’d at least have that done by the guy who’s exciting to watch and still has at least a chance of developing into a franchise QB for the team.

I get that my names been hard so you guys can just call me Mik (mi-iiiick)
Onto what I have to say…
Where was Royce freeman in the fourth quarter? He averaged 8.4 yard per carry and it wasn’t like he just had one run of 40 yards that made his average that high it’s that he was consistently getting almost ten yards per carry!!!
And I love Lindsay he’s been a great back for the broncos so far this season and he had a great game too but our second to last drive shouldve just been Royce up the middle until the game is over or until they showed that they can actually tackle him
And it wasn’t just this game he’s shown that he can ice a game with ease and was gashing KC defense more so than any of the other backs SO WHERE WAS HE????

Hey Zac and Ryan
I know you guys have a lot of comments to get to today. All I want to say is to broncos fans is if you think the broncos were going to beat the Chiefs you’re lying to yourselves. I want to look towards the positives like Broncos holding back an extremely explosive offense so well compared to what other teams couldn’t. The run game completely taking over the game and Keemun driving pass to Heuerman which wouldn’t of even setup the missed pass to DT. There only needs to be a couple of minor changes and they can be a really hard team to beat. What some of the best positives you guys saw from the game? Also firing everyone is not the answer.

The run game is working all game long and then suddenly you are going to abandon it late game when it matters the most?

Man coverage on 2nd and 30? Is Dan Reeves coaching this team again?

King has another terrible punting game. He is getting paid way too much money to be shanking 35 yarders.

I don’t want to hear any crap about how Denver wasn’t likely to win this game anyway. They had the game won. They abandoned the game plan and gave it away and that was on the play calling.

This loss falls squarely on the shoulders of the coaching staff. For everything they did right in the first half, they threw it out the window in the second half.

Yeah, Keenum missed that throw to DT at the end of the game, but he should have never been in that position, to begin with. They couldn’t protect a 10 point lead despite having multiple chances to close the game out.

What the hell is Joseph talking about? “You score touchdowns by throwing the ball.” Are you kidding me? Did he watch the same game I did? Denver scored 2 rushing touchdowns! It’s time to send this clown packing. You can hang this loss directly on VJ and he deserves every bit of ridicule he gets for it.

Wow what a game…. I have a lot of different feelings about this one I don’t know where to begin. I guess I’ll start with Patrick Mahomes being an absolute beast! That dude is ballin! What’s with that left handed throw???? Who does that!? I personally believe that he won the game for them. At the same time I do think the defensive play calling was wrong towards the end but we had one heck of a game! Mahomes just kept escaping and making plays no one else would ever make. Sorry I’m just blown away right now. Can I just ask…. where can we get our own Mahomes because we need one! Super bummed that Keenum missed that throw to DT to seal the deal. I believe we will win games with Keenum but not Championships. And that’s what everybody wants. That’s why everyone is calling for his head. I think he is a good quarterback and will be a plug until we find our future QB.

Much Love (Shaka)

I felt that now was an appropriate time to start commenting. Ryan and Zac, been listening from afar for the last two seasons now, and just wanted to first thank you both for such an incredible job covering the Broncos. I moved to Boulder to attend CU, and I’d be lying if I told you the Broncos weren’t involved in my decision to pack up and leave Cincinnati. About the game… I would like to point out that although Case should have hit that throw to DT at the end, I don’t believe we should have been in that position. Did the refs miss a few calls (delay of game, Mahomes seemingly 3 yards passed the line of scrimmage on a red zone throw), yes, but we cannot blame it on the them either. Ryan tweeted out that we ran the ball 22 times to a whopping 37 passes, yet I am pretty sure we were leading/tied for every minute until the end. I find it interesting that the coaching staff refuses to accept the advice you give on the Pod, as 40-45 runs probably would’ve won that game. Coaches need to understand the personnel we have and go from there. Cannot have Keenum dropping back 35+ times a game; it’s not the aforementioned “winning formula.” Sorry for the long comment, had to make my first one worth it! Thanks again for the great coverage, go Broncos and Sko Buffs!

Hey guys!

I just want to start of by saying you guys have been a blessing! I’m a new subscriber and potentially considering the lifetime package haha. I’ve been listening to you guys since the beginning of training camp and it has been a pleasurehorse ;). Win or lose, listening to you guys talk Broncos give me a very enjoyable drive to and from work so THANKS again!
Moving along,
Couple questions for you guys,

1.) Can we pump the brakes on firing all of the Coaching staff? I honestly thought we had a really good gameplan up until we gave up 2 TDs at the end. The defense was affecting, THE NEW Sheriff in town PFM (Patrick Fu***** Mahomes) not showtime…*cringe*, but he was able to escape the pocket and make crucial drive saving plays. Our Defense was bent, but not broken until that egregious no call delay of game. (Even Elway was saying what are the refs watching)

2.) Does Keenum look affected by the knee injury? At times hes accurate and making the correct decision, but I have a feeling hes being limited due to high turnovers. Was that throw to Heuerman underthrown?
Anyway thank you Ryan and Zac for doing Broncos Country a service and keeping our heads held high. I’m confident we can learn and bounce back from these 2 losses next week especially if we can continue to pound the rock all 4 quarters haha….too soon.

Ps: Really random but I swear Zac kept saying “Old Timers” instead of Alzheimer’s in an Old pod this past off season. Also, Ryan be nice to Zac more often, he’s a golden cohost who should be aloud to sing when he wants 😉 much love shaka shaka

Man… We were in it! Right until the end.

1. It was nice to see the number of penalties against Denver decrease this week. Bolles got beat early, but his name was rarely called after that. How can we keep him in situations he can handle?

2. The Broncos made life so hard for Mahomes last night. He rose to the occasion in the end, but why are those complex disguises and schemes not the norm? I’d like to think Joe Flacco and Derek Carr would have a lot tougher time staying upright if they saw the same defense Mahomes did last night.

Overall good game.

McManus is pulling his weight this year!

Very few penalties called on Denver this week.

Defense held their own for most of the game.

Lindsey shows us again why he was the steal of the draft (or undraft) of the year!

Yes there was some bad calls by the ref (line of scrimmage throw and missed play clock) but the D should have been able to hold the chiefs to 2nd and 20.

Keenum really blew the pass to DT at the 5.

Ups and Downs in this game, but it was a very fun game to watch!

Comments over……

GO BRONCOS!!! and GO BRONCOS COUNTRY FANS!!!!

Base on my deep abiding belief that it’s better to be awful than mediocre in the NFL. I’d like to know why I shouldn’t be calling for Denver to turn the ignition on Swaggin waggin. Based on the first quarter of the season, we look like an 8-8 team right now. Starting Chad Kelly gives us roughly a 10% chance of striking gold and becoming a contender and a 90% chance of improving the draft position of a team that drafted well last year when given a prime position. 1 thing I can almost guarantee won’t happen if we put Kelly in is 8-8. This is blaze of glory stuff. I hate losing, but I hate settling for ok even more. Teams can turn around quick and I think the only way to squander the rest guys like Von Miller’s career is to be meh for half a decade.
