Hey Guys love the pod,
However you two have lost your marbles. We had a plan, the problem with that plan was there was too much value and support behind “one shot wonder” Bill. He made Derek Carr and the Raiders offense look like they were going to give us problems for a decade, however he wasn’t what we thought he was when we brought him on.
If you two remember the Broncos offense was dreadful all season long. Musgrave never ran play action, didn’t play his best players and didn’t play to the talent the offense had. The year before that, McCoy was given too much trust and we saw how he did when he left. ( Got canned few weeks into the season for not using his BEST player in arizona.
We drafted a QB that we thought was the future just like every other team only we missed, which happens in the NFL every year. We drafted a stud WR, Stud RB, and a LT. Reguardless if they pan out we clearly had a blue print in mind. The trouble is we don’t have the offensive mind to help develop or merely get the best of our players. If Kubs is brought back Keenum will thrive in his game plan AKA play action passes, as well as our running game. We need a defensive coordinator to help bring he Orange Crush back.
PS Munchuk is a Oline HOF, however look how he was on the Titans, their running game was grabage under his control, and they have/had studs under his term. Pray he isn’t chosen.

Saying they thought Paxton was the future is a bit of a stretch. Drafting Paxton was a panic move because they expected Brock to stay after Manning retired and they hadn’t put in the work scouting QBs all year. If they would have had time to study him I don’t think they would have gone up to get him. Brock really threw a fork in Elway’s plans.

Hey guys! Its been awhile since I’ve had some time to comment, but it’s nice to know you guys got your hands full this New Year. I wanted to give you guys a quick shout out for staying on the grind beginning of this off season. I wanted to quickly ask you guys something if you guys hadn’t already mentioned it, but have you guys watched any of the 2017 Elite 11 QB competition? Watching this competition between Tua and Trevor gets me really hyped.
The throws these high schoolers were making made Case Keenum throws look pedestrian. Realistically I’m afraid we don’t go that route and desperately try to hit on a QB at this year’s draft. I know you guys have touched a bit on this topic, but what would be the easiest way to draft Tua or Trevor without tanking?
Go Broncos! Let’s go Hall of Fame Broncos!
MrFreeze
I hope they go the Munchak route. These next couple years are not about winning, they are about building. We aren’t going to knock off the Chiefs or Bolts in the next two years so we might as well accept the fact that we are rebuilding. Yeah, we almost beat them this year but they have the ability to beat other teams that the Broncos don’t beat. Building from the inside out is the way to go and until we get a shot at one of those generational QBs in 20 or 21 you have to focus on building your core. I’m all for bringing Fangio in to take this defense to the next level but that’s only going to get us to mediocrity with a terrible offense and being in the middle of the pack in the draft isn’t going to get you a top QB. Can you guys imagine if the Patriots, Packers, or Chargers had an opportunity like the Colts had when Manning went down and the Colts got Luck? Gotta pray for those 3 guys to stay healthy and keep playing for the next 3 years.

New Draft plan:
Step 1: Trade picks to move up into top 5 and select “your QB”. Give him the requisite 3-4 years, if he pans out great. If not;
Step 2: Repeat Step 1 until Step 1 works.
Step 3: Dominate for 10-15 years. Then repeat Step 1.
Simple.

As we approach the final decision, I’m left with the weight of the fact that it’s a crossroads the Broncos are facing as an organization. I actually disagree with you RK. On the pod you mentioned Fangio is swinging for the fences, but I think there are 2 versions of swinging for the fences we’re talking about here. You said Fangio is turning back to a sunny island, Munchak is sailing through the storm. Swinging for the fences is the risky decision in any situation, and so is sailing through a storm versus turning around for safe harbor. So actually Munchak isn’t “safer” at all because he’s your captain to take you through the storm, Fangio is the safe option guiding you oh back to familiar territory where you try to rekindle an old strategy of winning with dominant defense. As I’ve thought about this a lot more, I think moving forward, if it’s between these two guys, they HAVE to go with Munchak if I’m going to feel any sort of hope for this team moving forward. Safe is death, and if they don’t want to sail through the storm and face a potential rebuild and really committing to fixing the offense, this team is doomed to repeat its previous failures…I hope for all of our sakes the choice is Munchak…

now that we now its Fangio…will @BSNBroncos be the first to print the “Denver Mob Boss” Tshirts? and If so, Im in (I can test it out for you)

Ah yes, Victor John Fangio… Aka The Godfather. I have these scenes going on in my head of Fangio sitting across from Elway, with a cigar in his mouth as he says, “Ya tell me John. Do ya wanna win or forgeh bout it?”
Super pumped for this next chapter in Broncos Country. Success is not a given but it’s a fresh start at the HC position and that’s always exciting for fans. We know we’ll get no bs from Fangio. Unlike Vance who raved about great practices, I feel like Fangio will tell you if the players had a shi**y practice. Finally, some exciting press conferences. Vic has some spice! Excited for you fellas!

The Fangio hire is a very now move, as you explained in previous pods that Elway does. I’m eager to see what he can do with our defence, and I hope this helps keep Chris Harris happy.
Kubiak is a good scheme fit with the running game and Keenums strengths. It’s a move to have a great D and a capable offence like before. I’m ok with the hire, it’s not a sexy move, but an interesting one at least. I’m in for now, but still concerned about the future.

Hey there, BSN fam!!! It’s been a minute since I have commented. In fact, last time I commented, the broncos were coming off of a 3 game win streak and potentially on there way to make some noise in the post season! It’s amazing how quickly EVERYTHING can change.
Zac and Ryan, I’m always excited to read and listen to your content. Thanks for everything. You guys are the first thing I listen to in the morning on my way to work. Also, Zac, CONGRATULATIONS on your shareholding! That is awesome and much deserved!
Have any of these candidates passed the “punch in the face” part of the interview? It’s fun picturing this…. John Elway just calmly going about the interview, asking questions when all of a sudden: BAM!!! across the face swings kubiak’s fist while the interviewers await the response from the candidate! ???
Thanks as always guys! Still waiting for the podcast where Zac eats a hot pocket while watching the adventures of Doug. Much love

BLOOP or whatever we call it I’ve forgotten: I’m afraid we’re turning into a deeply unhealthy organization.
Hey guys!
The news of Denver hiring Vic? I’m a FANgio.
Every other shred of news surrounding this hiring from Elway picking staff, Ellis having his own private meetings, to The hope that we can resurrect our 2015 defense, it’s more like fangiOH NO.
This search has made me face the fact that without Mr. B at the helm, we are a franchise adrift. Ellis and Elway appear to oporate like an estranged couple and both have issues.
Ellis is a complete mess. No naming rights, no standard of excellence, no accountability. He’s bad news.
I still trust Elway, but so far he hasn’t shown that he has it in him to think long term. He’s a fantastic GM to take us over-the-top, but he needs someone to help him build from the ground floor.
We need a vision. We need a plan. We need everyone in charge pulling in the same direction and I don’t see any of these things.
Sorry for the doom and gloom, here’s being proven wrong this year!

BadOne Log 21:
Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! The Broncos went with “my guy” from Chicago and getting Kubiak as the OC. What a great strategy! i am excited to see what the rest of the staff looks like for us. Do we think Greg Williams can be the DC? or will it be someone that Vic has worked with in the past? I am sure by the time you guys read this you will have a hunch. Great coverage so far you guys.
PS: When the season ended I commented that our top two positions we need to fix is going to be CB and MLB.. seems like the MLB part might be coming to life. Vic was able to take an average secondary in Chicago and make it elite, we should be very excited today in BroncosCountry.

Hey guys! Been listening for ahwile and finally pulled the trigger, mainly due to the fact I’m not sure you guys carried my size shirts (3XLT) to subscribe earlier when all the promos were going. Love what you guys are doing and love listening makes all my driving endeavors much easier. But to my questions and I have a lot of them, I see Kliff Kingsbury is super interested in kyler Murray and with him potentially committing to the NFL and the cardinals looking into trading Josh Rosen, would it be something broncos could go for? If so do you like the move and what would we have to give up? ( I know Ryan’s a Rosen fan) Secondly if that doesn’t go through and kubiak and keenum are back into ground and pound and play action, do you think we could see the Vikings keenum make a come back? I know you guys were super impressed during training for keenum to be a stud we just never used him to his strengths. I’m currently listening to the welcome Vic to Denver podcast and I have one last question for my 1st comment as a BSN subscriber, I’m hearing you guys talk about maybe not have a win now roster in Denver but have a win now message. I currently think if we beef up the corner back position and some offensive line spots and use our core defense to take the air out of the offense and I mean “mafia style stranglehold” on these high flying offenses, get Chubb and miller putting pressure as they do best, then let kubiak and keenum run wild with what case excels at, with our young offensive WR and RB studs (feed Phil the rock) I think we could be very dangerous and shock a lot of people. I have that underdog mentality and love being doubted and showing what the Mile high mafia can do! Thanks guys and this was money well spent!
