Hey guys, Richard Buck here. Love the Pod so keep up the good work. Quick question for you guys. Shamarko Thomas … Lindsay’s replacement on special teams? Did the Tasmanian Devil prove to be too great of an asset to risk as a gunner?

What’s up fellas! Long time listener and recent subscriber. After watching the pass rush we were able to apply on Seattle week one, my expected sack total for this Sunday is sitting between 5 or 6. I just don’t see anyway in which Donald Penn and future first round bust Kolton Miller will be able to slow down Von and the crew! With that said, what is your prediction for total team sacks for the Broncos this weekend. Appreciate you guys!

Hey dudes,
As Ryan mentioned a couple days ago, I was also stoked to see Von Miller going nuts on the sideline this last weekend. I had never seen him like that. The visual personification of leadership and energy made me feel he is really stepping into the role his status (and paycheck) calls him to. What would you like to see him do this next weekend to further prove that he has taken steps forward in his growth as a team leader? We all know he can play, but I think I saw a man that could inspire as well…. that could be special.

(Car-ch) Hey guys new subscriber, fist off I just wanted to thank you guys for the amazing content! I have a long commute to college each day and your podcasts make me actually look forward to that drive! The in depth content here at BSN is second to none, truly the best coverage you’ll find anywhere on the web. Even for a poor college student your content is indubitably worth the price of admission and I couldn’t be happier to be a member of the bsn family. My question regards the Seahawks game last week. I know we keep saying we clearly outplayed them and would’ve blown them out if we didn’t have those three picks. However, I think it’s impor to consider we didn’t lose the turnover battle, we came up even on the night. So how did Seattle stay in the game if they didn’t win the turnover battle? Was it just those big plays like the 51 yard touchdown to Lockett where coverage broke down, was it the right end madness, or perhaps something else?
*first off not fist off lol
*important to consider
*tight end madness
Jeez guys sorry about all those typos
Hey guys, my first question is for Ryan. If you had to only cheer for one team, would it be the Broncos or the Buffs? Also, how many years are left on DT’s contract? And when it’s done, do you think Sutton takes over and we move on from DT? Thanks and keep up the good work!

Thank you for actually praising Vance Joseph! I have been defending him all offseason and it’s nice to see someone else give him proper credit. I know it’s only been one game but gotta go with all we have for this season so far. I mean c’mon people, give the guy a break and go Broncos!

I have a question for you all to do some digging on. I asked about this during the summer and now I have a specific example. I had asked about players switching helmet models during the season and if they’re allowed to do that because of rules stating players have to wear the same helmet throughout the season. I noticed in the practice photos from this week that DT switched from a Ridell Speed to a Speedflex. Do you have any insight on why he switched?
3 and Outstanding
To touch on what you said about special teams I really feel like that seems to be the emphasis this season. Get a punter who can coffin kick into the corner of the 5-yard line consistently, bring in a supporting cast of special teams players who immediately make an impact, bring in a veteran punt returner to shore up the field position game. These are all moves that affect all 3 phases of the game. Shorter fields for the offense to work from, forcing the opposing team to climb out of their own end zone. It sounds like a winning formula to me and it showed against Seattle.
Do you think McKenzie will find his way back onto the 53 at some point, or is he destined to bounce on and off the practice squad for the rest of his time here?

Dudes…Josh from Palo Alto again. So my questions relates to the usage of Shaq Barrett, and if we’re properly taking advantage of that asset. Seeing as he only played 4 snaps in week 1, as opposed to Shane Ray’s 18, it appears he’s firmly 4th in the pecking order of OLB’s. While we all love the theory of the “Nascar” approach, how often will it really be used? With that said, and considering both Shaq AND Ray are FA’s after this year, wouldn’t it make more sense to turn one of them into a more usable or long lasting asset, such as a player in a greater position of need or more likely, a draft pick?
An obvious trade partner would be the Rams, who are 100% ALL IN this year, have a devastating interior pass rush, yet could use a speed rusher on the outside. Almost every analyst identifies outside pass rush as the only weakness on an otherwise stellar Rams defense. And with our homey Wade calling the shots, the integration of either Barrett or Ray into their scheme should be seamless.
So given all that, what type of draft compensation do you think either Ray or Barrett would realistically fetch? And when playing the role of GM, what would you personally require as comp to make such a deal?
Love the pod…you guys truly bring a unique and informed opinion that’s usually quite different from the masses.
And go STANFORD – winners in the classroom, winners on the field!

What the heck is going on with Denver and their practice squad players!?!? I know it’s somewhat normal to add/drop/and re-add people but usually it’s just like one or two players. McKenzie has been yanked around like crazy, Cracraft is gone, Kerr is gone, McDonald is gone, Shmarko Thomas got promoted (good for him), and now Carlos Henderson just got released from the practice squad? It just seems weird to me that we’re only one week into the season and our practice squad has been a complete marry-go-round of players. Maybe I’m looking too much into this but it just seems excessive or more so than the norm I guess.
