You guys briefly went into it at the end of the podcast but when you started talking about the lack of quality at quarterback in this draft class it got me thinking. Denver, in my opinion, has plenty of holes that’ll need to be filled. I think CB will be a huge need with Roby likely not to get a new contract and Jones being a 1 year stopgap. Inside linebacker will be a big need as it seems Brandon Marshall has regressed to below mediocrity. We clearly could use an injection of talent in the tackle position especially from a strong class. Past that Peko is aging and out of a contract plus Derrick Wolfe seems to be regressing as well. I guess to get to the point would it be better to take advantage of the areas in the draft that have the best talent rather than force a worse quarterback prospect in immediately? We do have Keenum for another year and I think Kelly has earned himself a look from what I saw in pre-season and what I heard from BSN in training camp. Seems he’s matured a lot too. I’d just hate to see us miss out on the top end talent that will light the league on fire from those positions I mentioned earlier that would really help the team long term and maybe go for the better quarterbacks available next year. Sorry for the long comment, lots of thoughts, I’ll save those for future comments though.

Andre, what’s the purpose of scouting players in person? Especially at this point in the season. What does Elway gain from scouting players in person now versus watching the game on TV? Thanks!

I love this question.
