Denver gives up a conditional draft pick in 2017 for Sanchez based on playing time. The Broncos may be using Sanchez as leverage to land 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick as the 49ers are now coached by Sanchez’s most recent coach Chip Kelly.
Although, Broncos GM John Elway says this is the first step in their process and Sanchez will compete.
Acquired QB Mark Sanchez for a conditional ’17 pick. He brings veteran leadership & will compete. This is the 1st step in our process.

Sanchez is set to make $4.5 million in 2016 which is a friendly contract for a starter but high for a backup.
Sanchez led the Jets to two AFC Championship games in his first two seasons after being drafted from USC

The all-seeing god Elway totally botched this off season. Bottom line, Osweiler was drafted in the second round and groomed to take over the reigns, then the Elway god just let another team snatch him away. Now they have Mark Sanchez. They are done as the come. Get real. Also Wade’s defenses have historically dropped off in his second year. Look at Cowboys and Texans history from whrn he was in those cities…..Superb defenses in the first year….not so excellent the second year….very average the third year.
