“Bortles should be able to do exactly what Driskel can, right down to being able to take over with his legs. He showed that in one of his two playoff wins, a wild-card triumph with the Jaguars over Buffalo in January 2018, when he gained more yards on the ground (88) than through the air (87) against a stifling Bills defense.”

I did notice that he could be effective running. He didn’t run particularly well at the combine (4.9 sec in the 40), which suggests he knows when the is space to run. Was a little surprised that Driskel didn’t run more against the Steelers, but it could be that with the skill talent the Broncos have, there was usually someone that at least looked open.

Bortles is not a very good QB, but at this time of the year QBs with starting experience are hard to find. He’s maybe the best of a bad lot. Though an argument could be made for Kaepernick.
