What is it about King that doesn’t allow him to perform fake punts as well as Dixon?

I think Dre was pointing out that he is very small in stature, and it would be unwise to put him in a position that he could get hit and potentially injured. Dixon was a stocky, athletic dude coming out of college. I was excited for us to try some fakes with him and add that creativity to our special teams. Unfortunately, we never really did while he was our punter

Hey Michael,

Yes as Preston explained size has something to do with it. Dixon’s ability to fake punts both as a runner and passer is another factor in this as he was pretty great at it in college (check this link out from our scouting report back when he was drafted https://www.bsndenver.com/scouting-report-broncos-seventh-round-pick-riley-dixon/).
King looks fairly fast for a punter, but he’s only converted one of four attempts in his career and just doesn’t have the same skill Dixon has. That’s what it comes down to, it’s more that Dixon is really good at fakes rather than King not being good.

Thanks for the question!

I’m hyped! The FA period ended up being pretty darn good. Let’s have an even better draft in a couple weeks!
