As originally reported by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Denver Broncos will host QB Connor Cook for a pre-draft visit on Wednesday.

Cook, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound prospect out of Michigan State, is a potential first-round pick but the recent hype of second-tier quarterbacks like Paxton Lynch and Christian Hackenberg has lead to Cook falling a bit under the radar. As we’ve seen so many times, though, especially with quarterbacks, it only takes one team to fall in love with a guy and he’ll be off the board in a hurry. La Canfora reports that at least one NFL exec is ranking Cook “even higher than a few” of the top QBs.

Cook obviously agrees.

“I respect Goff and Wentz and Hackenberg and Lynch and all of those guys,” he told La Canfora. “But I think I played against really good competition and I played in some big-time games on some big-time stages with a lot of stuff riding on it — seasons riding on it; championships riding on it — and I think I played pretty well in those types of game. And to be considered the fourth-best quarterback, I don’t really understand why. If it’s scouts or coaches, I don’t know, I’m obviously not with them watching the film. Maybe it’s my completion percentage, maybe that’s it. But I think I have the resume to be a first rounder.”

Could the Broncos be that team or one of the teams placing first-round value on Cook? They’ll surely have a better idea after his visit on Wednesday. Cook will be the fourth QB to visit the Broncos thus far, joining Memphis’ Paxton Lynch, Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott and Florida’s Jeff Driskel on the list.
