ENGLEWOOD, Colo – It’s never easy to cut an NFL roster down to 53-players. Many players see their dreams crushed as the head coach alerts them that they will be released. Some players, though, get a second lease on their NFL life.
On Sunday morning, the Denver Broncos announced the signing of eight players to their 10-man practice squad:
Player | Pos. | College | Exp. |
Dillon Day | C | Mississippi State | 1 |
Vontarrius Dora | OLB | Louisiana Tech | R |
Mose Frazier | WR | Memphis | R |
Henry Krieger-Coble | TE | Iowa | R |
Ryan Murphy | S | Oregon State | 1 |
Justin Murray | T | Cincinnati | R |
Taurean Nixon | CB | Tulane | 2 |
Juwan Thompson | RB | Duke | 3 |
The team saw none of their released players claimed by other teams and still reserve two more spots to add more young players. They keep their options open to sign a free agent and demote one or more of their current 53 to the practice squad by only adding eight players.
UPDATE: The Broncos have signed undrafted rookie linebacker Kyle Kragen to the practice squad and expected to do the same with Kalif Raymond to fill out their 10-man squad.
