The Denver Broncos have reportedly signed safety Darian Stewart to a four-year contract extension. According to Ian Rapaport, the deal is reportedly worth $28 million as the base with $17.5 million in guaranteed money. Stewart can earn up to $30 million total over the life of the deal.

The 28-year old Stewart is currently in the last year of the two-year contract he signed on March 13, 2015 as a free agent after leaving the Baltimore Ravens and was set to become a free agent in March. He made an immediate impact in his first game as a Bronco, intercepting what would have been a game-winning touchdown pass in the end zone against his former team, kicking off his well-earned reputation as a playmaker alongside T.J. Ward as part of the vaunted Broncos secondary, nicknamed the “No Fly Zone”.

In his 25 games as a Bronco, Stewart has totaled 84 tackles, 13 passes defended, 4 interceptions, and 1 forced fumble. His trademark game came just a few weeks ago against the New Orleans Saints when he intercepted Drew Brees twice and recovered a fumble late in the game.

An undrafted free agent out of the University of South Carolina, Stewart began his career with the St. Louis Rams, playing four seasons with the Rams before moving to the Ravens for one year.
