Broncos Pick ‘Em: What will Denver's record be on their upcoming three-game road trip?

Riding five-game win streaks, the 6-5 Denver Broncos and the 10-1 Philadelphia Eagles are the two hottest teams in the NFL.

That’s right, the Broncos are the hottest team in the entire AFC.

But now Denver faces a tough three-game road trip starting this Sunday in Houston against the 6-5 Texans.

After facing rookie phenom C.J. Stroud, Sean Payton and the team will go into Los Angeles to take on the struggling 4-7 Chargers before ending their road trip in Detroit against the 8-3 Lions.

The Broncos’ next home game isn’t until they host the 2-9 New England Patriots on Christmas Eve.

But before the team returns to Denver for the holidays, they have to face this daunting road trip. What will the Broncos’ record be over the next three games?

What will the Broncos’ record be during the upcoming road trip?

Zac: 3-0 — Screw it, the Broncos are going to win out and finish the season on an 11-game win streak.

The Texans, Chargers and Lions will all pose their own challenges for Denver, but the Broncos have already overcome very difficult challenges during their current five-game win streak.

During Denver’s five-game streak, they’ve only played one team with a losing record (the 5-6 Packers) and have beaten three teams that are currently in the playoffs (the 8-3 Chiefs, the 6-5 Vikings and the 7-4 Browns).

The Broncos have proven they can consistently beat good teams at home and on the road.

The 8-3 Lions will be the most difficult game for Denver in this stretch, but with the way Vance Joseph’s defense is forcing turnovers, they will steal that one in Detroit by stealing a few passes from Jared Goff.

The Broncos will return home for the holidays with a 9-5 record and riding an eight-game win streak.

RK: 2-1 – Five-game win streaks are rare in the NFL. Three-game road win streaks in the NFL are rare. If the Broncos were able to do both and come out on the other side in the midst of an eight-game win streak would be beyond remarkable.

While I would probably pick them to win any of these games in a vacuum, I think the Broncos will end up losing to the Lions.

But who knows, maybe they’ll simply never lose again!

Hank: 1-2 — Road games are tough. Road games against good teams are even tougher.

And the worst part is that all three of the Broncos’ opponents play a style of football that doesn’t match up well for Denver.

The Broncos have built an identity during their five-game winning streak. They’re more physical than their opponents. They get takeaways. They don’t turn the ball over.

Against the Josh Dobbs Vikings, the Dorian Thompson-Robinson Browns and the Jordan Love Packers, that strategy can work. Those teams want to run the ball, so the Broncos can overload the ground game and buckle in for a slugfest.

The Texans, the Chargers and the Lions, on the other hand, want to put up big offensive numbers by throwing the ball aroudn the field. It’s a different philosophy that will create a different game. Denver can try to dictate the game, but that’s tough to do on the road.

All three of these games are winnable, but I think they’ll only pull off one win.
