Broncos Pick 'Em: Over/under 10 wins for Denver in 2022

The Broncos are almost back. And they’re better than they’ve been in a long, long time.

With a new owner, head coach and, most importantly, quarterback in town, the expectations for the 2022 squad are the highest they’ve been since Peyton Manning was in town.

Will Russell Wilson and Nathaniel Hackett be able to live up to the double-digit win expectations?

The DNVR Broncos Crew breaks it down on the first edition of Broncos Pick ‘Em.

Every week throughout the season, we’ll preview the Broncos game by picking a series of props as well as picking the games around the AFC West.

Over/under 10 wins for the Broncos this year?

Zac: Over — When this line originally was released, it was 10.5 wins. At the time, I still liked the over, but now with the hook gone, I love it.

If Denver isn’t able to get to 10 wins, the season will be a massive disappointment. I think they’ll finish the season at 11-6 and make the playoffs. But if they get 10 wins and push this number, that’ll still be a very encouraging season and the team should make the playoffs.

Year in and year out, Russell Wilson has proven he’s essentially the closest thing to a lock to making the playoffs after making the postseason in eight of his first 10 seasons in the NFL. That’ll continue his first season in Denver.

RK: Over — The Broncos very well could have the best defense and the best running game in the division. Of course, it’s a quarterback league, but they also have a future Hall of Famer at the helm there. They’re more than fine in the QB arms race, but when push comes to shove, those foundational blocks of the defense and run game will take them a long way.

The schedule shakes out pretty well for a team that will be settling into a new offense to get their feet under them before entering the guantlet that is the second half of the season, but if all goes well they should be more than on their way to covering the 10 by the time the bye week rolls around.

Hank: Over — I’ve got the Broncos winning 10 games on the number, but winning 11 or 12 feels a lot more likely than winning eight or nine.

The Broncos’ running game and defense might need to carry it through some growing pains in the early-going. The key winning double-digit games will be Russell Wilson and Nathaniel Hackett finding a groove when the schedule heats up in October.
