BSN Denver has confirmed reports that talks between the Denver Broncos and tailback Ronnie Hillman have heated back up, with both sides hopeful of reaching an agreement soon.
Hillman finished the 2015-16 season with 863 yards on 207 carries, with seven touchdowns to go with it. On paper, a better season than C.J. Anderson (152 carries, 720 yds, 5 TDs) who the Broncos signed to a four-year, $18 million contract earlier this offseason. That doesn’t include the postseason, though, where Anderson shined as the top workhorse for the Broncos and earned his billing as the top back in the organization’s mind.
The Broncos let Hillman test the waters of free agency but it seems the stream has led him right back to Denver, where he has spent the entirety of his four-year career.
The Broncos open up their offseason program on Monday morning, the hope is that Hillman will be a part of tomorrow’s workout.
