Broncos might’ve just signed the man to replace Britton Colquitt

The Broncos announced today they have signed rookie punter Karl Schmitz.

The #Broncos have signed rookie punter Karl Schmitz to a contract. He handled punts and kickoffs for Jacksonville University in 2008.

If the Broncos cut Britton Colquitt, they will save $2.2 million dollars against the salary cap. Since earning his contract extension, Colquitt has been rather disappointing and with a heavy contract for a punter, expendable.
