Playing cornerback for the Denver Broncos with the name Chris Harris has a special meaning nowadays and now they might have two on the 53-man roster.
Chris Lewis-Harris, No. 39, found himself beat on the play when 49ers quarterback Brian Hoyer connected with Marquise Goodwin but Goodwin could not haul it in and Lewis-Harris made an acrobatic interception, ripping it away from Goodwin for his first pick in Orange & Blue.
Lewis-Harris, an undrafted free agent back in 2012, signed with Denver in late June and has been fighting for a roster spot throughout camp with the likes of Lorenzo Doss. It also doesn’t hurt his case that his former defensive backs coach in Cincinnati, where he first got his start, is a familiar face—head coach Vance Joseph.
