With the game all but finished on what would become the final game for head coach Gary Kubiak, Denver knew exactly what they needed to do to finish strong and steal the AFC West title away from the Oakland Raiders.
The “No Fly Zone” was in full effect all afternoon and was capped off with an interception by rookie Justin Simmons who now has two in his career. The fluttered ball was overthrown by fellow rookie Connor Cook right into the waiting of Simmons who capped off the season with an impressive 45-yard return to help send “Kubes” out a winner.
