Broncos rookie cornerback Justin Simmons has become a household name for the Orange & Blue over the course of the 2016 NFL campaign and proved his worth once again Sunday night in Arrowhead.
Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith was hit as he threw by linebacker Cory Nelson and fluttered a ball directly into the hands of the waiting rookie. No. 31 returned the intercepted ball 38 yards to the Denver six where newly signed back Justin Forsett would punch it in a few plays later.
The pick was the first of Simmons’ career and gave Denver an NFL-leading 110 points off takeaways this season.
