ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – With news that running back Kapri Bibbs sustained a fairly serious ankle injury Sunday, forcing him to go on IR, The Denver Broncos made a roster move and signed veteran back Justin Forsett Monday afternoon, as originally reported Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Forsett was released by the Detroit Lions on Saturday after playing only two games for the team this season. This coming after the eight-year veteran had been released by the Baltimore Ravens after Week 3.
In 2014, head coach Gary Kubiak was the offensive coordinator of the Ravens and helped push Forsett to the best year of his long career. The now 31-year old rushed for 1,266 yards and eight touchdowns in 2014, earning him a trip to the Pro Bowl.
With Bibbs down and C.J. Anderson out until the playoffs, the signing of Forsett could be a nice way to bolster a banged-up backfield.
