After visiting with the organization, Kasim Edebali has signed with the Denver Broncos, the team announced Monday.

The three-year NFL veteran who arrived in the NFL from Boston College has been fairly productive in his three seasons as a part-time contributor. In only two career starts Edebali has produced eight sacks with his best season coming in 2015 where he managed to get to the quarterback five times.

Edebali, who’s listed as a 253-pound defensive end and will convert to outside linebacker in the Broncos 3-4 scheme, is also credited as an important contributor on special teams a role that’s made him a regular on the New Orleans Saints 53 man roster.

With the Broncos having a player with a similar skillset and utility in Dakota Watson who’s an unrestricted free agent, Edebali can fill needs as both a situational pass rusher and in special teams coverage.

The former undrafted free agent has 54 career tackles in his three seasons and put on a show in one of his two career starts in 2015, sacking Matthew Stafford twice and adding six tackles against the Detroit Lions.

Edebali is now the fifth signing for the Broncos during the free agency period, all of which have been players who play in the trenches as the team searches for more depth up front.
