Per the Denver Post’s Nick Groke the Colorado Rockies have called up top outfield prospect David Dahl. Dahl, a left-handed hitting centerfielder at 22-years-old that was promoted to Triple-A just weeks ago.

The 2012 10th overall pick has hit .484/.529/.887 with 5 HR and 16 RBI in 16 games with the Isotopes. Earlier in the year, he played for the Double-A Hartford Yard Goats where he hit .278/.367/500 with 13 HR, 45 RBI and 16 SB in 76 games. He spent spring training with the big club for the first time prior to the 2016 season.

His 2015 season was shaping up to be terrific before a collision cost him a couple months and his spleen. He has been terrific at every level of the minors and joins the Rockies just around when the excepted him to come. Dahl will be joining the team Monday in Baltimore.

Also according to the Denver Post, the corresponding roster move will be to DFA Brandon Barnes .

The outfield shuffling comes just a few days before the trade deadline where the Rockies any move either or both of Charlie Blackmon and Carlos Gonzalez.

The 40-man roster now sits at 40.
