Avs' top Defenseman to miss 3-8 weeks

Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy announced today that the team will be without Defenseman Erik Johnson for 3-8 weeks.

Colorado acquired the blue liner via trade from the St Louis Blues in 2010. The former 1st overall pick of the 2006 NHL Draft hadn’t lived up to his high expectations but was selected to his first NHL All Star game this season with 23 points and a career high 12 goals.
