Can’t touch that 3rd line because it’s been working sooo well.

My thought exactly. Jost gets dropped 2 lines because he hasn’t produced but Calvert will stay next to Soderberg until the next ice age or he gets his first goal, whatever comes first. Unfortunately for Jost he never played for Columbus.

I’m getting a little worried about Jost. I thought he’d be a little further along by now…

Interesting how someone can seem so promising while in college yet struggle so much once they hit the nhl.

I’d still like to see Soderberg get a shot with some more skill on his wings. Thought it would happen by now.

Disappointed they removed Bourque. The difference between Jost and guys like Nieto and Bourque is the PK. We are top 3 last I knew in PK. And it’s all thanks to EJ, Cole, Nieto, Soda, and Bourque. So although not producing points, like Jost, they are helping to win games defensively. Hope Kam can keep up the strong PK.

I could see Bednar trying Kamenev or Jost on the PK. Especially since Jost is a winger tonight.

Talking shit on Calvert? First of all he started on the fourth line for several games and has come up from there. My guess is he’d be next in line on the second line carousel.
I think you’re supposed to be angry at Nieto.

That was supposed to be a reply to Rats, obviously.

Anyway, I kinda like these lines. I hope we get some hot depth scoring action tonight.

He’s 2nd on the team in PIM and 17th in ATOI and has 1 assist. He’s a ‘high energy’ guy who skates around like a chicken with his head cut off and almost kinda sorta scores, just the type who a certain part of the fan base loves. He’s good on the PK but at the end of the day he’s been one of the least productive (Bednar, who I generally really like and respect uses that word a lot with respect to Jost) players on the team who takes a huge amount of penalty time and has almost 0 upside potential, unlike Jost and Kamenev who also have both shown to be quite defensively responsible as well taking that advantage at least partially away from Calvert. They paid him a bunch of money and he’s from the Columbus system so he’s gonna play.

He seems like a really good guy who tries hard but as I said when he was signed, why do we have to overpay for their 4th line plugs, why can’t we develop our own 4th line plugs? Are we still in development mode or are we in win mode? If we’re still in development mode we have plenty of kids who could better take Calvert’s time next to Soderberg. If we’re in win mode then we definitely need to do better than Calvert next to Soderberg. Even if he’s deemed essential for PK he can be available for that while playing on the 4th line not where he is.

Just make Carl the 2C already. he’s the second best centre on the team right now and it isn’t particularly close. Stack a second line, and see what happens.
