The Colorado Avalanche made a swap of minor league prospects before today’s NHL trade deadline.
The #Avs have acquired Freddie Hamilton from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Karl Stollery.
— Colorado Avalanche (@Avalanche) March 2, 2015
Stollery played in seven games in two seasons for the Avalanche, but spent most of his time on the blue line in Lake Erie. Freddie Hamilton is only 23 and could still have some potential. Hamilton had 43 points in 63 games for the Sharks AHL affiliate last year. The bigger story here are the moves the Avs didn’t make. With speculation in recent weeks surrounding interest in Ryan O’Reilly and Alex Tanguay, the team stood relatively pat at the deadline.
UPDATE:
A late trade has sent forward Max Talbot to the Boston Bruins for forward Jordan Caron.
Bostons Caron to the Avs for Max Talbot as main elements.

Most Avalanche fans will be sorry to see Talbot go as Boston is getting a veteran that has a great influence in the locker room.
Caron has spent time between the NHL and AHL and is another project prospect.
There may be more elements to this deal.
