Let’s not forget that the Avalanche were the team that gave up the fewest goals in the league this season. While it helps that they never had to face the highest scoring team in the league they were great defensively all season. I’m expecting the narrative to change as the playoffs go on and for the Avs to finally be praised nationally as a defensive force that also happens to score a lot.
