That loss felt like a win. Our top line was dominant throughout, we out shot them in their house facing massive distraction and adversity and they still needed 3 (or was it 4?) totally fluke goals to beat us. Does anyone else feel like it’s a possible omen that Kerfoot got 2 goals in 22 seconds in the game we lost Duchene? That seems weird to me. It gave him MORE goals on the year than Duchene, even if they were in the “garbage last minute”. I haven’t really been taking Kerfoot too seriously but I think that changed my mind. I take WAY more good than bad out of that Isle’s game.

Kerfoot definitely seems like the real deal. His speed always surprises me and I think his attitude is very mature and positive. I hope he listens to coach and puts some more pucks on net.

Just out of curiosity does anyone know if the Global Series games in Stockholm are going to be played on the larger European ice surface or have they somehow managed to pare it down to the smaller NHL standard size?

It is NHL sized rink. Ericsson Center made a big deal about adapting their playing space to conform to NHL standards. If you think about it, it makes sense. Teams are playing for four NHL points, so the rink should be standard NHL size.

Good to know. I suppose it is easier to shrink an ice surface with some sort of temporary boards than it would be for a North American arena to expand it’s surface!

Kerfoot showed some character in scoring not once, but twice, in the last minute of the game. It really grabbed MY attention, as last year, it didn’t take much for the team to lose momentum in a game and never regain it. I agree, it looked like a promising sign of things to come.

JD am I getting it wrong or did you miss including Kerfoot in what is a 3-way tie for goals leader? He has five now too, right?

That Kerfoot signing may be the best offseason move Sakic made. He seems to be a pass-first type of player, but in the last couple of games I seems Bednar told him to shoot the puck. And Kerf’s responding.

I guess that I should eat some crow at least for now (chew chew). I have been very negative about Barrie and Soderberg. Hopefully Barrie plays some D and Soderberg stays on course. The games in Sweden should be fun to watch.
