Good stuff here AJ, particularly compelling is the Penguins model. I’d totally echo the statement multiple cups are to be had if the development pipeline continues.

Thanks AJ, a very well argued and strongly supported case. I am confident your points will be reinforced as the next two in line are both skilled and hard workers in Bowers and Timmins. It’s fair to assume neither of them will disappoint.

I am really torn on what to think on potential moves in the off season. On the one hand I want to see these kids get a chance to shine, but on the other hand Joe has been red hot on personnel decisions/moves in the last two Summers. He seems happy with the current roster but they still need to make decisions on D which will force his hand plus the usual value propositions will tempt him. And they may be itching to make moves after a potential Long Covid hiatus. Just trust Joe knows.

I sure hope that’s what happens.

AJ, good article, I totally agree. The Avs need to give their young prospects a chance in the NHL to gain that experience and develop. Pittsburgh is a great case study of giving young guys a chance to shine over veteran AHLers who just take up space and block the young guys from having opportunity. It is really weird not having hockey in our lives!
