Thanks for the nice cheerleading, AJ.

I still scratch my head when I see the Avs play good teams where our top players have way more points and skills than their top players, and yet the opponents end up winning, which lead me to suspect:
– the opponents know how to play as a team better, and,
– the Avs are way inconsistent.

That, plus the fact that when the Avs had guys like Miko and Gabe and Cale injured, and we still played great, makes me think in those situations the Avs were playing better as a team.

I don’t understand why our top line is not just demolishing the bad guys like they did last year.

So, beating bad teams is all well and good. And I know we are capable of beating any of the good teams. I just want to see more consistency wrt teamwork.

So that’s a backhand way of saying Mikko, Gabe, and Cale aren’t team players because reasons. Just say that. It has as much bearing on reality as the 150-word spiel you laid out.

Also, if you think AJ’s take is biased, just say that. You can completely ignore the stone cold fact that this team, regardless of when they’ve played well or not, have had struggles ‘getting up’ for bottom feeders and played down to their competition for YEARS. They aren’t doing that his year. That’s different, and that’s an improvement over past teams which DID have certified me-first guys on the squad.
