Non Avs question for podcast: Is the Laine issue in WPG the next Duchene? He is a high end scorer who doesn’t drive offense / make teammates better and is a defensive liability (per, for instance, HockeyViz player cards). A good player, especially for a team that needs power play help, who will likely command a much higher salary than his contributions would mandate. Thoughts?

AuthorDuchene wasn’t really a defensive liability to the level that Laine is but they are similar in their streakiness. Laine can’t afford to disappear for three months of the season he needs to be an elite goal scorer night in and night out.
