For 3 on 3 regular season overtime, the team that has puck possession in their attacking offensive zone may not retreat with the puck and regroup to attack. The team with the puck in their ozone must always be on the attack, if they intentionally retreat and regroup they lose possession.

Eliminates “playing for the point” in regulation.
Incentive for going all out in overtime and at the end of tied regulation games..
