Two thoughts on the D.
1) Let’s trade Z now. Too inconsistent in the D-zone and too many lazy stick penalties. I can live with it if he’s getting those penalties for just being too big, but a lot of his penalties are could easily be avoided just by moving his feet and skating to position instead of hooking or tripping.
2) I know we can’t until next summer, but I’m ready to just copy and paste the Josi contract extension for Maker right now after the last couple of games. He’s just scratching the surface and already starting to dominate the game in stretches. Yeah, he’s still gonna have some ups and downs, but the ups seem really up, and the downs have not looked bad to this point.
