Rule changes I would like to see. First is get rid of the trapezoid. The intent behind it was to add offense and excitement to the game. My big problem with this from the beginning was this question: what was more exciting and entertaining than watching Hasek wander into the corner to play a puck? Second, go to the 3 point system in the standings. Two options for the third, one whimsical and one real. Real one is create an exceptional player player exemption for special CHL kids to play in the AHL. Whimsical, for shootouts the goalies are given three rounds each to score on the other empty net from their own crease. If still tied after that the following rounds will progress from solo breakaway to 2-0 to 3-0 to 4-0 and there is no rule against moving the puck backwards like a current shootout/penalty shot, they play is blown dead once the puck is deliberately directed on net (still no rebound goals). So the goalies have a chance to end it themselves or be in for a world of misery.
Legit question for your next Q&A pod. What are the rules on players being sent to the AHL for the playoffs after their club’s NHL season is over? Specifically for players on ELCs.
To clarify: Do you mean players being send to the AHL from the NHL or elsewhere for the playoffs?

To be clear, watching Colorado spank Calgary at about 1pm was the best way to spend a work day 🙂
