Thanks for calling out my comment about getting some other players in for game 5. I’m fully on board with the “close it out ASAP” school of thought. My thinking on that one was that none of these guys have played a game in 5 months, and this is going to be the closest thing to a meaningless game they’re likely to have here. Given that injuries are inevitable, it might be nice to have some guys there with at least a game under their belt recently ready to go.
On the Newhook discussion, isn’t the CHL and option for him next year? He’s still eligible age wise, and from what I’ve found Halifax owns his rights there. What about the idea of signing him and sending him there to play? Contingent on the CHL playing this year that is. Otherwise I’m all on board with letting him go play in the Swiss league for a year. Either way, I think it would be best that he’s playing somewhere.

You have been talking a lot about how good a defense Avs is going to have in the coming years, but what about their defense right now? Is it top 10? And especially the normal Zadoroc-Cole third pairing, is that among the best in the league?
