great podcast guys!

Aj man, when are you gonna start the draft pods? Post trade deadline? I’m jonesing for some avs draft speculation and prospect opinions

Oh man. It’s harder to justify doing draft pods when you’re covering a potential playoff team, you know? I’ll keep an eye on the schedule. All-Star week/bye week is a good time for that stuff but it won’t be frequent until the Avs are finished up.

No worries man, absolutely understand. I’m just a sucker for prospect discussion of any kind. The second section of this pod is tiding me over for now!

We’ll definitely spend some time on prospects in the next few weeks. Sooooon.

Very interesting podcast. It’s so enjoyable to listen to one person speaking intelligently, without interruption, followed in turn by the other person. Good job.

Topic of discussion for the next pod: The end of this year will have the Avs having to sign contracts to Rantanen, Kerfoot, Zadorov and Compher. We all kinda know what Rantanen will be getting, but what will be fair for Kerfoot, Zadorov and Compher? Also, can you see them putting an extension offer to Barrie next year at all? He’s in his prime and the leading scorer on D for the club all time.

If Bowers is so good why isn’t he even at .5 points a game in the NCAA this season? He’s their top line center so he’s getting plenty of minutes and chances, right? You say BU is bad this year and that’s why he’s having a slow year, but doesn’t the play of the top line center have a lot to do with the strength of the team? Maybe BU is bad because he hasn’t been playing well? Chicken or the egg?

He’s not really an offensive dynamo. Good prospect, definitely a future NHLer but we’re talking about a likely 3C here. His offensive production has always been the thing to keep him from being a top-notch prospect.
